do people really look at this and think "yea that looks great"? might just be me but the colors don't mesh well, all the gold shit is gaudy as fuck and the grey (?) fork looks weirdly out of place

I measured actual nos. on the bike with the 160 38 on low, the bb ht was at 355mm. I was surprised because that's the supposed bb with a 170 29er fork, I dunno why with the discrepancy. Put it in xlow, and I like it better. I like the front end low hence why the stem is slammed. Gotta post new pics to relieve teh confusion.

if you have a -1 angleset like the spec says you likely arent preserving stock geo. 10mm of fork equals 0.5 of HA. Youd be better off w a 10mm crown race spacer and normal headset than an angleset if youre tying to keep geo stock.

raising and lowering your stem can have a fairly profound effect on reach numbers though. Its been a while since i did the calculation, but with a 65 HA your reach changes +/- 3-4mm per 10mm spacer, which can have a pretty big effect on weight center and ability to load your front wheel. A lot of people don't realize this either.

Yes we do. We occasionally go back and put them together again. But bikes and trails are meant to be ridden.
