didnt race worlds, still recovering from achilles, wants to feel 100% before coming back. I'm assuming the announcement carries to this race since they're only a week apart.

I’d like to see a scale shot for that weight.

and so many people don't care to learn how to tune their suspension aside from "lockout for climbing and open for descending"

Riders should have to pass a test on the effects of low and high speed damping before being allowed to buy a modern shock. It's crazy to me that even at some bike shops this remains a mystery. There are SO many people out there on crazy expensive bikes with...more

fair enough, i guess the race brakes, and 160 rotors save a good chunk. Didn't mean to imply you were lying about claimed weight, just surprised you got it so low. impressive. you could knock more weight off with ti bolts, ESI slip on grips, carbon seat clamp & integrated bar clamps to ditch the extra rings and bolts for the dropper and axs shifter.

You are correct.
How ever the 78 deg seat tube is perfect for climbing, agreed that when the fork compresses the seat tube gets even more steeper, but really if your riding somewhere that the fork gonna compress that much your going to be standing up anyways

I don't beleive the 22lb 15 oz, stock T3 build is claimed 27lb 6oz. step cast saves 0.3 lbs with stepcast vs standard 34, carbon rims and berd spokes can't be more than 1 lb, save 1lb on tires (maxxis--> schwalbe) assuming you went with the lightest weight casing, carbon stem/bar/saddle can't save more than a half lb combined...so somehow you're claiming you saved another 2 lbs? how?

When you get on a HT, the front compresses, so the 62ha is only present when the bike is unweighted. When a rider sits on it it gets steeper, at ~0.5 angle gain/loss per 10mm stack height, that means if he's at 20% sag on the 150mm fork that the HA will be 63, it only gets steeper when compressing thru berms or heavy braking. There's no rear sus squish to offset the front steepening. Longer front ends also help with this, i forget the exact mechanism but it has to do with a longer lever arm from back wheel to fork. Meanwhile, with full squish, the compression of the rear suspension and fork offset eachother and the geo is more preserved when the bike is weighted than is a HT. Hence the trend for ultra aggressive HTA on modern shred worthy hardtails. If anything doesnt make sense its having a 78deg seat tube that will only steepen when you sit on it.

they don't deal direct w consumers, dealer has to play middleman. I tried skipping the dealer because there wasn't one within an hour of where I was living earlier this summer but Yeti told me I had to go thru a shop. I did however strip the frame down myself so all the shop had to do was put it in a box. A 6 pack or two always helps lubricate a shop's prioritization too

I cracked a rear triangle on my yeti 5.5 a month and a half ago, brought it to a dealer, and had a replacement in hand in 2 weeks.
