4/24/2024 4:20pm Man...in the late 90's, early 2000's when a pro contract had the rumour of 7 figure money b/c of Peaty, Palmer & Schley...SO, SO many dudes had the not so bright idea of having doctors rig a cast that had a hole to slide onto the bars to salvage points. More than one of my buddies duct taped their fokking hand to the bar at various times. Heck, I remember Steve...something from Cali came drove his old T100 all the way up to Mt. Snow, yanked a gap over a dip above the waterfall section, shoulder comes out of socket...

4/23/2024 6:24am I've had almost all of them with ride time and the Trickstuff has a lot of similarities with Hope, the quality is just slightly more refined and better, but not by much. They also ditch DOT, which I know some people care more about than others, although it's a big issue in the US where Bionol is nearly impossible to find. I tripped over my bottle and nearly lost half of it, which made for a rough moment and a few bad words. I also feel at the price point they should include bleed tools, Intend does and IMO there...

4/23/2024 5:51am https://enduro-mtb.com/en/best-mtb-disc-brake-can-buy/ interesting brake test, still cannot understand how the "battle" for the best brake was between the Dominions and the mavens and not between trickstuffs and hopes, hopes do everything better than the mavens, stop you quicker, better lever feel, easier to bleed, cheaper to buy, way better looking, even lighter, don't really know, regardless, interesting test backed up by dyno data

4/19/2024 7:00am I'm not really sure what SRAM is going to do about the massage situation with the Mavens. They are eventually going to start trickling down into OEM builds and assemblers aren't going to do that procedure, it's something that should've been done at the factory, but my concern is that whatever it is doing needs to be done when the brakes sit idle for a while. Time will tell. I had no issues bleeding the Maximas. I know a lot of people reported problems, but they were fine the first time through for me. I usually double check the bleed...

4/19/2024 6:11am Running Intends too, love them so much that I have them on both bikes now. Ran Hayes before the Intends, never had any issues with those either, until my wife demanded I hand over mine so she doesn't need to run the Codes anymore. Would like to add if something is easier to do, then it's probably also easier to...

4/19/2024 6:01am I ran these before moving to Intends. I've also tried a bunch of other brakes. Most of the mtbr discussion is people dogpiling SRAM due to that youtube review by Dale Stone. I tried to offer some useful commentary there but eventually got tired of arguing with people who would never try them and just wanted to shit on SRAM (which I can relate to given my CS experiences with them). I'm not really sure where Enduro MTB got the power numbers from, I can say in terms of feel at least, the Mavens seem to have more power earlier...

4/18/2024 7:27am Excited for the new 240 DEG hubs from DT swiss. They seem to be bomb proof, decently lightweight, pretty good engagement, and very serviceable by a gorilla like me. They do seem to cost quite a bit though - I wonder if anyone can compare them to the CK hubs that use a similar mechanism and engagement, while also being...

4/16/2024 6:45am Big fan of EXT, had great experience with their customer service, they really go above and beyond. Heard nothing but good things about Vorsprung, hope they compete in the more "boutique" section of the market to provide better products and service. Didn't have the best experience with Push but hope they improve in that regard.

4/3/2024 6:09am Was pretty close to getting my wife the Tyee CF6, decided not too after seeing the cable tourism and the mile high seat tube. The geo and sizing was actually very good, as they offered the XS with a pretty small reach and stack that fit my wife pretty well. Oh well.

3/27/2024 9:59am There is absolutely no need for him to rush back to competition. He's already won WC races so his goal is the overall and worlds. The overall is gone and realistically worlds would be the first race back. He is so young it's not worth risking a career long injury at this point. I'd be taking the year off from competition. Do some riding trips and videos to keep the sponsors happy, get 100% recovered and then smash the field next year.

3/27/2024 7:34am Robert from The Loam Wolf here. I was the one who broke the Scalpel, and I’m not surprised I did - overshot the landing of a large jump for an XC bike, landing in the pocket between the landing and the flat ground after it. Huge bottom out. I corrected Kaz at Pinkbike’s quote - he had flatteringly guessed me to be 190lbs, whereas I am 220lbs. Nothing fishy. I wholeheartedly believe the Scalpel is fit for purpose and that it was my fault! Was having far too much fun and got carried away.

3/25/2024 12:01pm https://www.bikemag.com/news/crankworx-responds-to-slopestyle-athletes Did Crankworx have a response to the riders' requests? Is the series open to appearance fees? "After receiving the athletes’ letter, Crankworx and the local organizing committee (LOC) assessed and addressed all three demands. While two of the demands have been answered with immediate action as well as written commitment, the third demand requested a EUR 2,000 appearance fee per athlete per Crankworx World Tour festival (a total of EUR 184,000 for the 2024 Crankworx World Tour). As Crankworx is the organizer of professional sports events within the Crankworx FMBA Slopestyle World Championship (SWC), no attendance fee can be...

3/25/2024 11:59am I guess rather than comparing to NFL, NHL, MLB, etc, why don't we compare to enduro, dh and xc privateers? How many go years without a decent sponsorship, but manage to make it work. Lot of these guys work their asses off in the off season so they can do spend the summer racing all over Europe and North America. What makes the slope guys different? What makes them different than the other disciplines at CW? If they start to get appearance fees and travel expenses, is CW going to start giving the same to the other CW athletes? I...

3/25/2024 11:53am I can feel the teenage angst bleeding through here, so I know I'm not going to change your mind. For anyone who is intellectually curious around the subject and how wrong this person is, here is an easy example to follow. The TL;DR is supply and demand underpins how "markets work". Not name calling and employees banding together (ironically what you just described has more Marxist tones, which is fine). Anyway - my example for anyone who cares... At the pointy end of the spear in the live performance space, its pretty widely acknowledged the best in the world right...
