I've tried to stay out of this one in general because I'm far from knowledgeable on the subject but here goes. Okay, so expressing doubt isn't claiming to know better. Watched a guy at the Monster Pro DH in Cat 1 snap his top tube ripping through a 90 degree berm. Irony being he didn’t realize it. I heard it clear as day & was telling people around me “I just heard his bike snap”. He hits the 3 flat hucks Neko built to “break test frames” & on the 3rd one the down tube made a crunch sound & that was it. Said he’s had it for 2 weeks. JRA !

To be fair, it's also possible that competitively priced and highly specialized manufacturing will pop up in the U.S. at enormous scale with armies of knowledgable, specialized non-immigrant workers in the next month to save us from these high costs. That's all we need. Well, that and in-country raw material extraction for materials that often don't exist in our borders in the quantities we need, like bauxite, rubber, lithium, cobalt, rare earth elements, etc. But if we can figure out those two aspects in the next month we'll be fine.

I think it’s fair game to question Jesse. I’m no pro mountain biker but from my own professional experience I’d say it’s pretty uncommon to know exactly what kind of a deal the guy at the desk next to you is getting. It not clear what olive and barb to use from memory. But I just used the shimano barb and olives (for the zrace levers).

As @Primoz posted aliexpress brakes. But you can purchase just levers. I ran one set initially on Tektro 4 piston calipers for a year and then got a good deal on the DB8 calipers. I put a second set of "Zrams" on my enduro bike after how well the levers played with the DB8 calipers

Yeah I mean, I guess you could probably play around with the bb spacers or put a 6mm offset chainring to get 52mm chainline if you really want. I believe wolftooth sells a 6mm offset chainring
