2/28/2025 6:12pm The Vorsprung shock is somewhat similar to a CC Double Barrel in that they are both twin tube designs like Ohlins pioneered. The Telum has the most interesting design out of the bunch with a solid main piston and very unique means of adjusting the compression and rebound damping curves. It wins "showroom feel" as well, I have never felt a shock so supple and smooth. Perhaps a twin tube shootout with Cane Creek, Ohlins, Fox DHX2, and Telum? We're just getting started, big plans for the future. 👍

2/28/2025 6:11pm Frame travel should be around 180mm or so with the stroke at 65mm, but won't know for sure until the data acquisition is setup. That will be part of round 2 where the plan is to take the two fastest shocks and try to figure out why. Are they using more travel easier, riding higher in the travel, resisting bottom out better, recovering quicker, or something else?

2/21/2025 4:44pm In regards to " just how significant of a headwind the plateauing of performance has become for the broader industry." I have my own anecdotal experience with this in just the last few months. Background: I have been a mountain biking for almost 30 years, I slowly over time worked my way up to having high-end bikes, custom small builder frames, and usually 4-6 bikes at a time. I currently have a custom steel Singlespeed hardtail, a full suspension trail bike, a tricked out Dirt jump bike (evil imperial 😉), a Rigid Fat bike, a gravel grinder/monstercross bike, and enough...

2/15/2025 6:25am Story time. Ages ago, a good customer at the shop I worked at picked up some fancy aluminum Italian road frame and at the same time a brand new Phil Wood bottom bracket to go with it. He installs it and torques to spec (he was a highly competent home mech and used us when the WTF quotient got outta hand) and goes to tweak the chainline some and lo n behold, bottom bracket is frozen solid. Keep in mind, this is brand new, hasn't had the wheels installed yet much less been on a ride. We're contemplating the hows...

2/13/2025 4:48pm Orbital sander + 120 grit pad 20-30 seconds on each side x2 using medium pressure. This is how I prep my rotors when changing pad compounds/brands. I even do this when changing pads to fresh ones. Never let me down.

2/12/2025 4:52pm The warranty is lifetime of the product for the original owner. The problem I have with this is how is the lifetime of the product defined? One could argue that it is the fatigue life of the material for normal use in which case it completely depends on what criteria Pivot design the bikes to. Personally, I find lifetime warranties for the original owner a bit of a marketing gimmick and would much rather have a fixed 5-10 year, transferable warranty so it's completely clear and the next owner also has some cover.

1/29/2025 4:20am My A3 has been phenomenal for that purely because it has a corner to corner eva non absorbent foam gutter right at the very front bottom portion of the liner. They're adhesive and every a3 comes with every size. Most TLD dealers would have extras. I've had good success sticking them in other helmets. Oakley helmets also come stock with a silicone sweat trough in the front.
