8/17/2020 3:00pm My advice to people: do not weigh your bikes - unless you're trying to build up a hill-climb specific bike. There have been a lot of tests and studies about bike weight, and the consensus is, it doesn't matter nearly as much as people think it does. For some reason, we all still think trail bikes should be ~28lbs, it's been that number for as long as I can remember. It was that number when I worked at shops - before we had dropper posts and tire choices beyond: folding, wire bead, or DH. When forks had 30 or 32mm...

8/2/2020 1:02pm If you want a review of what we have seen in the shop regarding this drivetrain, I have it. Pretty much everything he described is accurate, but the rear derailleur has one critical flaw: The sealing on the guide pulley pivot/ clutch mechanism is sub par. At least 1/4 of the many xt 12s drivetrains we have sent out/ serviced suffer from premature corrosion in the clutch. It is so bad that sometimes the cage cannot return to its tensioning position when shifting to higher gears. Best case it causes very inconsistent clutch breakaway torque. You can identify it by...

7/24/2020 5:02pm I have a Dakine Hot Laps hip bag which looks to have the same bottle holder. I can get a bottle out no problem. Putting it in with one hand while riding definitely takes some technique, but it's possible.

7/24/2020 5:02pm At four seconds in, it shows a bottle loaded up. Pulling it out while riding? No problem. Loading it back up while riding? Nah, that probably won't happen. The bottle held rather snugly in place.

7/24/2020 1:04pm So, cute video. I get it, it's a bag that can hold different kinds of stuff. Any chance of showing an image of the bottle holder loaded up? Is there any chance of me being able to pull out a bottle, take a swig, then put it back in the holder while riding?

6/4/2020 10:20am I encourage everyone to watch Eliot Jackson's video below and think about the mtb commuity we are part of. View this post on Instagram Full vid. This is for the cycling community. I’m exhausted and there have been so many times over the last few days where I have been ashamed to be a part of this community. I’m exhausted by the fact that I have had to fight for things that should be common place. . I am exhausted by the fact that someone will watch this video and think that I don’t care about equality for ALL people...

6/4/2020 10:20am i have no problem to hard things. Isay hard things. Hard things are where the solutions are. Where they arent is posting black squares, flags etc. and pretending we just did anything of substance. Generally, Im a conservative\ libertarian on most things ,but i find myself disagreeing with my normal political allies on this topic. Im sick of it,Im sick of the finger pointing and the blame game. All the concentration JUST on the riots is pissing me off. There is a serious need for police reform and it needs to start there. DO THAT in legislation. Trump COULD plow...

6/4/2020 10:19am I too have felt some of the things you are worried about. One thing I suggest in this quandary is education. Here is a good jumping off spot-> https://nmaahc.si.edu/learn/talking-about-race/topics/being-antiracist I feel like education on the matter/following leader in minority group movements, and reading up on history has helped. If you only do one thing, this video about OUR community is really good->

6/4/2020 10:19am We CAN get somewhere. We dont have to get everywhere all at once. How do you eat an elephant??.. Uniform, national policing standards that eliminate some of these very dangerous holds. Bust up the unions that keep these cops from ever being charged and investigated. Thats where alot of these cases get shut down. Stop self policing, where one police dept 'investigates" another dept for crimes alleged. No more internal investigations De militarize them, they don't need tanks and that bs. This may sound silly but, make the uniforms less imposing that theyve become. Plus, its 112 today in Phoenix ,youre...
