Dextreme Added a comment about press release DEITY Launches LTD Edition RECON Pedals Featuring Bas van Steenbergen

Ok genuine question: how much money is saved by having the 2 inner studs being plastic instead of a screw like the rest? I know that location is gonna be the least prone to pedal strikes, but it still makes me nervous that if you break one off or wear it down you're SOL. It doesn't seem like it would be that much more expensive to make them all metal.

Thanks! Are you talking about the internal routing plugs? Yeti makes those and includes them with their AXS builds. I think they also sell them aftermarket on their site.

"Exciting" stuff doesn't always land in our office for product testing and some of it isn't that grand in real life. Many of the titillating products you called out have yet to be tested by Vital and therefore we can't speak to the validity of them when things get dirty. There's some really neat marketing in what you've listed but without trail time, Vital can't speak to it objectively. We have a huge product guide for members to add their own product reviews, please share your own, first-hand experiences. We know our Vital community rides a ton, so we love...

Best mod...put a Bosch CX motor in a mtb. Worst mod? Need a chairlift to use your mountain bike.

Worst: Maxxis Aggressor - sucks for climbing, doesn't stop well, should have gone with a Minion SS, 'cause at least it can corner SRAM Guide - not as good as Levels or cantis Bontrager Blaze helmet with Wavecel - expensive, hot and heavy, just what I want in a halfshell helmet Best: Carbon rims on everything - no more flat spots Vorsprung Luftkappe - amazing Dropper posts that aren't Reverbs - most rides I use my dropper more often than I shift Jury's Out: Intoxicated while riding - set some PRs while hammered, but it seems like a bad idea...

Interesting feedback on the Dart tool. I've had an awful time trying to find a tire plug setup that doesn't pull out after pedaling around for a few rides. I bought a Dynaplug hoping the brass barbs would keep the ground from pulling it out over time, but the barbs end up separating from the plug and then I have...

Favorite Accessories: TOGS - I've only ever seen XC people with these things, but I run them on my enduro bike specifically for racing. It's nice to be able to set your hands on top of your grips and turn your brain off on the pedal transitions. It has a Pavlovian way of reminding my legs not to try to...

I have a Dakine Hot Laps hip bag which looks to have the same bottle holder. I can get a bottle out no problem. Putting it in with one hand while riding definitely takes some technique, but it's possible.

What is it that you don't get about listening to others' feelings and opinions about things and taking them to heart? It's childish. Schoolyard bullies think its fun to push other kids on the ground, but we teach them not to because it hurts others. We don't say, "It's ridiculous that the kid is hurt by the other's fun. No one is allowed to have an opposing viewpoint anymore! Down with PC culture!" If you refuse to change your ways even after someone has pointed out that they're offensive or harmful to them, just because they're 'fun', then you're willfully...

How is dropping the term going to hurt you? Its use hurts others, and it's not up to you to declare that it doesn't. Clearly, you just wish your viewpoint to be privileged over those of marginalized people. And yes, they are marginalized; the continued skepticism towards the wishes and desires of indigenous people is both cause and evidence of that.
