Oven cleaner in a bucket works, but can't be any of the newer Eviro-Friendly stuff. Gotta keep checking it though and use rubber gloves. Too long and it'll start to get a black finish. Can be scotch-brited and polished back to silver though. There are a few Youtube videos (non-bike specific) on doing it.

Only about 1 month or so into testing. Butcher up front is just above 1kg, Eliminator out back is like 970 or so if memory serves I generally would agree, I don’t usually drop below 1000 grams on a 29er, but it’s going well here so far. Granted, the rim profile also comes into play here. The Crankbrothers Synthesis has a fairly wide and rounded edge, that also helps with snake bite.

just to point out the obvious, the Butchers from a couple of years ago have nothing in common with these new ones except the basic tread pattern. I'm currently seeing really good results with the Grid Trail stuff... probably jinxed it now :-)

Interesting. That hasn’t been my experience. I was on Maxxis DD previously. I have a 2021 Enduro and the bike came with Butcher Grid Trail T7 front and back and they’ve been fantastic. I’m surprised by the grip so I look forward to eventually trying a T9 in the front. I ride on the North Shore and haven’t gotten a flat after hundred of KMs of abuse. I only wanted a bit more support (without the extra weight) so I added Tannus tubeless inserts. So far, I don’t see any need to upgrade to the Grid Gravity.

I found my 29x2.3 eliminator grid trail t7 to be more fragile than exo. 3 punctures in 8 rides. I normally ride exo+. 170lb on a ‘21 stumpjumper Evo.

Jack Moir is NOT 6'4". Has anyone here met him in person? He is closer to 6'1" or maybe 6'2" at the very most (Neko is 6ft for reference in the linked photo). He's just a lanky bloke of a ripper. He's within the recommended size range for a Large frame. He definitely runs a unique setup but not crazy for his size and his DH background. Much respect to him, he's one of the most enjoyable dudes to watch ride and race. His style kind of reminds me of the Ratboy of old, who is coincidently the same height...

We have some really cool projects in the pipeline centered around 29er bikes (including this Giga) that will appeal to all sorts of riders. It's a shame you came in so hot, there's merit to your question, but under these pretenses, it's difficult to address legitimately.

You would be surprised to find how strong 27.5" sales still are in the UK and some other regions of the world. As a UK brand of course Nukeproof is catering mostly to that demographic.

Our choice to grab a 27.5-inch version took into account a number of elements that do not merit defense in this context. I will assure you, it has nothing to do with the existence of the Santa Cruz Nomad. I tested the Nomad (medium) The Giga (large) is being tested by someone else, in another state as part of a larger project. Let us all please keep these comments civil and in context. This is just a bicycle, after all.

Doe's switching chain lube or cleaning your chain make you, personally, go noticeably faster up hill? It's the same argument back to back. We both know less unsprung weight will create less inertia after a hit. This means the damper can function more efficiently, creating better traction, and fractional gains. You also need proper suspension design, bearing choice, and overall reduction of friction to take advantage of this. The ability to eliminate the cassette means a better balance of anti squat and pedal kickback. I'd be willing to guess you know what cog on your particular bike has the most...
