Fahzure Added a reply to 2026 MTB Tech Rumors and Innovation - Longer and Slacker
5/17/2026 11:44pm That 5010 frame doesn't last 20 years because of one rock flipped up off your front tire into the DT. It's a plastic bike, designed to be light and disposable. And, if a point impact scenario doesn't (likely) kill it, it will be unable to be updated because of "standards" or SC will no longer have a front or rear...

4/22/2026 1:13am @TEAMROBOT finally getting on the pro media circus bandwagon with his elders because, although its work, it doesn't seem like it until deadline.

4/17/2026 7:53am I think radials are defined as any tire with greater than 45* orientation. In other words, more fiber length is radial than lineal. Also some lineal orientation has benefits with torsional forces.

4/9/2026 11:43pm Oury push/glue on with a 1/2 cut flange to the outside. Big, cushy (no lock on plastic sleeve) and now you look like Joe Breeden.
Fahzure Added a reply to Tire inserts - do you run them?
4/5/2026 6:54am One of the main benefits to inserts are that they are volume reducers. This means that a 2.5 tire might have the spring progressivity of a 1.75 tire (more or less depending on insert), so that you can run a low pressure to get a big contact patch and small bump compliance, while still getting support for corners, bigger bumps...

2/10/2026 1:18am Beautiful rocker. I am curious to see how the lower shock mount holds up, there's not a very large distribution/surface of the load to the tube.

Fahzure Added a comment about video Why Do Racers Go Faster Without A Chain?
10/29/2025 12:16pm
You are over thinking/hearing it. If you/the racers are so precious about sound, get some good ear plugs and do a test. And, yeah, unrestricted suspension performance matters more than (background/engine/cheering fan) noise.

Fahzure Added a comment about video Why Do Racers Go Faster Without A Chain?
10/29/2025 10:06am
Removing the chain improves the suspension performance, especially low speed compression (chainstay lengthening) which is not held up by chain growth, so the bike tracks better, That's what feels so good and why you go faster than you think you should. "Kickback" might be better termed "drivetrain interference to the suspension mechanism." Rattly chains and foot feel are largely non-sequiturs in the physics of drivetrain suspension interaction.
