Broken-Spokes Added a reply to DVO Onyx D1 38 Enduro Fork: Tech Info, Impressions & Discussion
11/3/2024 8:30pm How does the D1 38 compare to the last gen Onyx 36? Onyx 36 I have feels great, HOWEVER, I got the new Topaz prime and have been blown away with how good it is compared to the previous topaz I had (their factory suggested settings weren't that helpful for me BTW). Hoping the new fork is just as much...

Broken-Spokes Added a reply to Arm pump/hand pain solutions thread
5/31/2024 6:11am Tons of good solutions up above. Something I've been working on is actively 'letting go' of the bars. You see the moto guys do this in the air where they'll actively let their hands loose up on the bars. On certain sections of trail, where you can get away from it, let your hands totally relax. I do this as...

5/30/2024 7:18am Sam to Foes? - Wild. I've been on a Foes Mixer and their Ridgeback for a while now. Rad bikes but definitely don't fit the mass produced mold. Excited to see where this goes! I'm guessing that small team in Pasadena is going to be flooded w/ calls today hahah

Broken-Spokes Added a reply to The Impact of MTB Content on Cyclists
11/1/2023 8:50pm Dude! And what's it done to our riding when we take a camera along? Do we hit that feature to get it on the 'gram or do certain rides because they look better on a GoPro to our 10's of subscribers??? I'm one who's been sucked into the content creation side of this and have to pause and put it...
Broken-Spokes Started a new thread Vee Tires - Anyone ride them?
8/11/2023 5:41am With the recent Vital Tire test, Vee came out sounding pretty dang awesome. However, I've never seen a set on a bike around here nor heard anyone who's ridden them. Anyone on here have opinions or ride reviews themselves on the Attack HPL or Snap? They look heavy but sound great from that vital review. https://veetireco.com/product/gravity-attack-hpl/ https://veetireco.com/product/gravity-attack-fsx/

5/13/2023 6:19am So somewhat of a shill, but whatever. I have the open mold version of this bike and it's incredible. Carbonda FM936. I've got a few videos on it if anyone's interested but can confirm - hauls ass both up and down hill. Super fun bike. https://youtu.be/9g6deVCyNuo

Broken-Spokes Added a comment about press release THE NEW STANDARD IN CYCLING STANDS
4/11/2023 5:19am Cool idea, well made, well thought out, but man does it seem like a waste of money. I'd love to be proven wrong. You can make a floor stand for the cost of a few 2x6's, some quality 10 min time on YouTube. Doesn't look as pro but neither is my riding. Regarding the wall mount, the best one you can buy (IMO) is the Steady rack for $90 usd. For anyone who's liking the idea of the wall mount bike repair stand, just get a feedback sports bike stand. When you mount it to the wall, you're stuck there...

Broken-Spokes Added a reply to MRP - Questions if you have ridden them
2/22/2023 6:26am Dude, hell yeah. That's awesome. Sounds like you got a great fork that's working well for you! Since starting this thread, I ended up pulling the trigger on a DVO Diamond, I'm very familiar w/ the fork and love the ability to rebuild. Next time around a lot of the positive feedback here is going to help me see if...

1/2/2023 10:56am Hoping to do the reverse Everest again at our local bike park this summer, this time only on the Black DH trails. My crew and I did it two summers back (30k descending in a day), but babies and life prevented it from happening this past summer. I want to do a 10k climbing day in the national forest by my house. A co-worker and I also like to do "no dab rides", where we call out a loop for the week and try to ride the whole thing without ever putting a foot down. It's a surprisingly fun challenge...

Broken-Spokes Added a reply to 2023 Riding Resolutions or Goals?
1/2/2023 9:58am Love the idea of a main squeeze bike. I do think that we get too caught up in the shiny new bikes when the improvement over what we currently have is probably minimal, if any. The mentality you bring up also makes sense from a happiness perspective as well, don't get caught up in what you could have, be grateful...
Broken-Spokes Started a new thread Is an offseason good?
1/2/2023 9:50am As I'm sitting here, with 12" of snow on the ground, I am wondering what everyone' thoughts are on an offseason. A ton of high level riders move around so they can ride all year around. I can't help but feel that as a normal rider with responsibilities and a family, not having an offseason might lessen the love I...

maximumradness Liked a comment about Press Release Bright Racing Shocks Releases New SKUNK Fork
12/17/2022 8:30am I’d ride it. One of the greatest things of mountain bikes is that this stuff is real, it’s really different, and we can just bolt it on and go try it. All different riders getting all kinds of weird and doing things their way for their zones. Bring on the weird forks and shocks! And trails. And people.
