What bikes relaunch in 2027?

There was a post here that a Forbidden bike (non-motorized) was spotted with the vertical shock / HP layout that their ebikes have, getting rid of the tunnel.  I could see that.  I'm over shock tunnels personally, make setting rebound a PITA and limit dropper insertion.

I'd bet $3.50 forbidden moves to the ebike suspension layout for druid/dread going forward.
 

What update are you expecting from transition? I'd be a bit surprised to see they move away from the horst link. That said i have zero insider knowledge.

There is a significant change in suspension platform for a number of Transition bikes. 

The yeti DH bike could be for sale in 2027

Traditionally the Genius has followed the Spark by a year.  Scott probably can't afford to waste any time undoing the damage, either.

A few bits I've heard from my LBS, and dealer reps at a recent demo event: 

New transition lineup coming next year. Will involve flip chips for wheelsize to consolidate frame SKUs. Smuggler going. Patrol/spire replacement coming first.

Ibis IB7 next year, along with an avinox ebike.

Specialized enduro replacement finally happening before bike park season next year, alongside a new levo. 

New Forbidden's as in the above posts. 

No megatower replacement.

Nukeproof potentially bringing out some new pedal bikes, definitely an avinox gigawatt. 

Norco sight update? Going away from the high pivot layout? 

Banshee has a new Legend, got to check it out this summer under Team Buell Bros.

Updated geo and kinematics, no more imperial shock sizing, and more adjustability. Looks like another solid option for an alloy DH frame.

I wonder if we'll see a new Giant Reign with the new Maestro link from the E-Reign and similar geo?

With the dropper post insertion depth seemingly becoming more of a matter (a.k.a. USP), I wonder if Propain and Mondraker will follow. As seen on latest Orbea, Cannondale, Yeti, SC (Tallboy). Rumour here around next gen Forbidden counts, too

Yeah, and also needlessly long seat tubes even when they are straight with good insertion (especially on smalls / mediums).  There's zero reason why a size medium bike with a straight ~78 ST needs it to be 420mm long other than "hurhur 420 lol".  I get that one ones with doglegs it was sometimes needed to get minimum insertion length, but that's not the case there.  Anyways, rant over.

From what I heard, Norco is going away from HP on the optic at least.  I think everyone sees HP and assumes tank.  Doesn't seem to sell as well has hoped.

I mean it kind of is a tank tho. High spec build comes in at like 34 lbs. That is a lot for a 130mm bike in my opinion. 

Sights staying HP, optic back to a low pivot, it would be sweet if they could shave a bit of weight off of both the optic and the sight. 

Having no interest in pushbikes these days, I care very little about most on that list. 

However specialized have to release a new  levo & it better be bloody good after the disaster that was the gen4. They literally destroyed their brand with that model after 10 years of market dominance.

I swapped a 160 status w/ fox 38 and X2 out for a carbon hp optic with dvo d36 sl and superdeluxe, all other components identical... the bike is the same weight. It's hella overweight.

It's also the worst quality frame I've had the pleasure of owning by a long, long shot so it's getting thrashed until it breaks and then it's going in the trash. But I've done a couple things to it so far that would have made the vast majority of trail frames explode on impact, so I'm not as upset about it as I was.

I've always loved the look of evil bikes but at 6ft2 I'm firmly in the long chainstay gang. I get there's more manufacturing costs involved but 450-460mm stays are so much better when paired with a 500mm reach.

To add to this one, I wonder if a Meta V6 from Commencal is on the horizon 

And for sure the Fuel + e-bike version of the modular Fuel out now 

Commencal Meta SX is due. They didn't have any new framesets for sale this year.
