Hope V6 Mono Ti limited Edition of 1000 sets starting in August 1st, Hopes new Vented T-Slot rotors 3.3mm thick.
It's a non standard post mount, right? Wider spacing?
yeah, so need special adapter that of course work on pm mounts, need to go +20mm rotor size
It uses a Radial brake caliper just like on Motorcycle brakes.
More details here: https://www.vitalmtb.com/forums/hub/hope-introduces-6-piston-brake-big-bikes-only.
Think the rotors will fit in a v4 caliper?
100% made for Surrons.
There is likely 0 crossover in people who buy Surrons and people who buy Hope brakes.
people geek out over their e-motos just like we do about mountain bikes.
You'd be surprised. The Surrons around here are decked out in Fox factory, EXT, etc suspension, anodized MTB parts, TRP DHRs, etc. The overlap in customers is significant.
they should use actual moto parts... because they are fucking eMotos.
I hate those fucking bikes.
Don’t hate the tool. Hate the “tool.”
Utilized in the proper context, they are loads of fun. It’s unfortunately too easy to act the fool on one.
Yes
To each their own. I don’t own either (and won’t anytime in the near future), but I would take a Surron before an e-bike everyday of the week if it was for personal use. (I would only ride the Surron on trails designated for motorized use or private property where I had explicit permissions)
Arguing about surrons and surron demographics on the MTB tech rumors thread. Sick.
I wonder if SRAM considered 6 pistons when working on the Mavens. Maybe after the 1000th piston massage, some SRAM tech was like maybe we should just add 2 more pistons.
New rumor. Canyon has a press release (which was revised afterwards removing MG) that at eurobike they'll have a long travel mtb with a prototype Avinox labled 'MG'. Might be a gearbox motor combo.
Nah, you'd be massaging an extra 2 pistons at the end of the day.
Yeah same here in the 'ham. There are at minimum 6 pretty bad ass Surron tracks in, or adjacent to the properties of well established MTB folks here in town. Some of their Rons are as insanely built out and equipped as some of the most expensive halo emtb's on the market...
If this is true, at what point are avinox shooting themselves in the foot? Ebikes are expensive enough that I’ve been holding off on investing in one until the tech change slows a bit. An MGU would compound this issue.

Here's a foot brake adapter for Tech V4s! Also what a horrible take, Surron created something between a pit bike and a dirt bike and made it virtually maintenance free and fun as hell
Now that Cam McCaul is on revel bikes, are we going to see a big dh or freeride bike from them?
Doubt it.
I dunno, they made the Rodeo as a proof of concept, wouldn't be too surprised if they resurrect that project...
From Forbidden’s latest instagram post, teaser of Title’s “unreleased” CR1 cranks
I love how clean and not flashy that is.
I need a rumor…… about a Horst Hightower …..
What’s the word on the next Cruz to “transition” to 4bar?
Where da rumors at?
(Surrons are peak e-bike)
Pardon?
Im calling it. 15 years from now Santa Cruz will unveil their ultra light and strong innovative single pivot bike… But only after Specialize fails to patent it with the most complex reasoning as to why their 1 bolt surrounded by bearings is Special.
All jokes aside, components are so good now days and frames are becoming heavier, Id heavily consider a well designed carbon single pivot bike for weight savings and just peace of mind simplicity.
I know this is not a rumor but it aint my fault no one is innovating.
Surron to release a VPP e moto
do you live under a rock? check yesterday’s news about their everyday ebike for 3500eur (with taxes). those things are getting cheaper because of the chinese, not more expensive…
