In our ever ongoing battle against the spammers, relentless bunch that they are, we have indeed been playing with geo-blocking and other techniques recently to try and keep them at bay. Where was your VPN set to? Some Asian locations have been giving us trouble so we've been blocking them.

Oh that’s why I couldn’t get to vital when in was in Korea few months ago 🤣

This is one of the features for the Korea track exiting the woods. I believe it's roughly 2/3 of the way down. The landings are going to be built in late-March, early April. They said about 70% of the course is done, with the remaining elements going on the open slopes. Not much intel on the XC course other than it being over by the bike park but apparently, not using any of the existing trails. They're going to shut down the slopes that run across the course early to get as much time as possible to build.

FYI, Vital and other websites all work perfectly fine. Only sites with geo-blocking going on, like Home Depot and 1Up, aren't accessible without a VPN🤣

Not actually 2026 racing, and not MTB, but somehow Rob Warner is live commentating Average Rob's 'Turbo Cross' today (starting right now, Dec 22 at 1030 EST): Turbo Cross 2025 LIVE! THE MOST HYPED BIKE RACE OF THE YEAR!

It's basically a sillier version of cyclocross with former pros and 'celebrities' (mostly YouTubers from Belgium/Netherlands).

We'll allow it since Marten Maes won.

Shit. I could’ve sworn Killington had secured the Open for a few more years. I wonder if it being under new ownership had anything to do with it.

Last year they had even spoke about building a new race course off the main hill for coming years.

To his credit, Clay Harper (or is it Porter) says every year he wants to keep the track something that everyone can race on. Amateurs and pros. But man, it would be so much better to see the pros race on a course that challenges them a bit more. Every year you hear the pros talk about how flat the course is. Makes for tight racing, but kind of boring to watch. The one year they had it off the top of the gondola it poured on race day. Track was steep and gnarly though.

Thinking the Killington thing is more the aspect of the UCI schedule being in Whistler and then Placid the following week. If the US Open remains in September then the UCI schedule is issue with the back and forth for various parties. Maybe Clay is easing everyone into the fact that the US Open will be West Coast event to slot in better with the UCI schedule.

US Open in Durango? 😀

Purgatory needs to start getting ready for World Champs, they are supposed to host some big events in the next few years.

That would be more than amazing and miraculous. Will Purg actually be open this year? Or do they need another year?

Maybe they have the US open at Killington but need to wait to make a Continental Series announcement, if that's still a thing? Still hoping for a Northeast US open either way.

Honestly, who knows at this point.

The new ski lift installation, which was the reason for the bike park being closed last summer, did not happen.

The timber harvest that was supposed to fund the lift installation, that closed the bike park last summer, did not happen

The permit for the lift installation, that was supposed to be paid for by the timber harvest, that closed the bike park last summer, was denied due to zoning issues.

And lastly; the lift that was already purchased and has sat on the ground for many months, which had it's permit denied, which was supposed to be installed with funds from a timber harvest that didn't happen, which closed the bike park last summer, WON'T EVEN WORK WHERE THEY WANT TO INSTALL IT, IT WILL LITERALLY DRAG ON THE GROUND.

Purg needs to hire some help in the upper management department ASAP. Probably not aided by the fact that the current base depth is 12" and it was raining on the mountain yesterday.

Also, OOF. That sounds like a shitstorm of a year for Purgatory.

Agreed east coast for myself as well. Hopefully Killington as Goat Skull is one of my favourite tracks.

Perfect! If ever there was a business where the wrong people are in charge, it’s the ski resorts

Now the guy just needs to win an XC event and he'll officially be the most versatile professional cyclist.

Hattie Harnden and Gloria Scarsi are contenders too.

The way in which it was presented "Built by the people it shaped" got me stoked as I wanna know more about who's behind the return while also figuring out ways in which I can support the series that raised me as a rider and racer. Stoked!
