How much are you in for?😂
I’ve been surprised for awhile there’s not a crowdfunded racing team. Put a bunch of fan fave riders on a fan fave team and watch magic happen like it did when Moir, Dean Lucas, and Charlie Harrison were together on Intense.
Would pitch in a few hundred bucks for Frameworks or Gwin Racing to pick up Dak. Surely there’s a bunch of folks willing to do similar. Could do it under the auspices of Vital Racing
That would be really cool, I’d love it.
I wonder how much money you would actually have to raise to cover a top rider for year including salary, travel/accommodation, equipment, support/mechanic, etc?
My hunch is that to fund Dak's 2026 on Frameworks racing, you'd have to crowdfund at least $250,000 to cover his salary, mechanics salary, travel, food and accom for both plus extras.
Big question rumor wise though, are Frameworks looking to expand? More American talent, a junior to replace Asa? Another elite male?
Neko does have the FW development team, so I'd say it's safe to assume he may bring up some new riders at some point..
I can't see Neko doing anything other than hunting for another fast Jr. These days a hot Jr can get as much press as an established Elite.
Not quite rumor, and not everyone loves energy drinks. But who gets what helmet always gets press in DH. Probably because we all know it means more salary (and medical care with R
. So here's my list of next helmet recipients. Thoughts?
Max Alran - Red Bull
Till Alran - Monster
Tyler Waite - Monster
Oli Clarke - Monster
Aletha Ostgaard - Red Bull
Sacha Earnest - Monster
Rosa Zierl - Red Bull ……. But not yet?
Eliana Hulscebosch - Prob has to do Monster ‘cos Blewitt has RB?
Isn't the Red Bull helmet a country by country distributor thing?
What team is Juanfer Velez, the guy who qualified 1st at Andorra, on?
Edit: Axess Intense
What will that team look like next year? Did they sign everyone to a 2 year deal, like is typical?
Redbull used to do 1 sponsored athlete per sport, per country but I think that's been more of a guideline.. I don't see them splitting up the Alran brothers if they go that route..
IF frameworks brought Dak on-board I think it would be loads of help for Asa in his first couple of years in elite. He could mentor him and it would just be the most badass USDH setup
Anyone know if Angel is staying on at FW? If not then It would be more plausible for Dak.
I would love to see Dak on big team so gets all the support but he is certainly more of a small team guy.
Would be cool to see what Dak could on Specailized or Canyon or Commencal but FW or Intense or Norco would be fitting.
Probably not given Neko publicly said that the first year FW was around he ran the entire team on $250k.
Open a who is the biggest Dak fan and my dream team with Dak forum, please. lol. No rumors from anyone else? Aren't contracts due in early November?
Purely out of speculation and no reasoning whatsoever, Dak to Gwinn Racing or Yeti.
Ya, mainly a guideline I think, Red Bull have sponsored multiple riders per sport/discipline in a few countries/regions, assuming it's mainly the ones with too much talent per sport where they just can't miss a key opportunity.
Rachel - Tahnee
Gee - Laurie
Matt Jones - Kade
Gwin - Asa
Iles - Goldstone
Roczen - Langenfelder
Herlings - de Wolf
And prob many more
Got to imagine that has gone up with Asa and Anna on the team, with a chance to be on the podiums every race.
Dak and Frieda create a team with Ari Bikes as frame sponsors. The "Give it the Ol Yeeh Haww" team.
Wyn has some luscious locks and uses laces, except he's almost always wearing a hat and signed by Focus... ChatGPT had a difficult time when I asked for pro DH racers with luscious locks, but I learned that Ratboy once rocked them.
Actually, Yeti is interesting. With Camille retiring. They surely have some budget. Assuming they'll wanna keep Tyler Waite if possible. But they'll want another elite male or female to replace Cam surely?
I heard somewhere that Warner Bros, Discovery +, TNT was up for sale. I'm hoping a philanthopist buys them and makes the WC free to air!
Does Roczen fall under Germany anymore? He has become a US citizen and mainly races in the US.. But, like you said, there's too much talent and marketing opportunities to not expand their marketing efforts.. Especially since, for a while there Monster and Rockstar wete putting helmets on as many people as possible..
I could see yeti being a good spot to land for both parties. I think Norton and Rude would be able to grow a lot and help each other as teammates. My prediction is he stays on mondraker or ends up on Trek or Yeti.
Jack‘s starting to sell YT bikes on his instagram. Not that it would surprise anyone but I guess this is proof that he is up for grabs as well
Vitals own @Jason_Schroeder went around liking all the Dak posts this morning, including mine about Frameworks building the perfect rig for Dak's preferences. We know they are friends🤔🧐 Team Rumors Standards.
Just doing my part of adding to the rumors 🍿
Dak won’t tell me anything for the record. But I’m surprised more people aren’t talking about that brand that also makes goggles as a potential team. They’ve got two spots that I know of open going into next year
I’d love to see him on Frameworks, just feels right. We swapped bikes in Whistler this summer for half a lap when I was riding the Frameworks, and there were a lot of similarities geo wise between the bikes–tall stack, long rear end, short axle to crown. Also minimal spring rate, high compression.
Scott? Interesting. Goncalo or Ethan out of Scott? Dylan retired, so that makes sense.
Jason is just looking for something to talk about on the next podcast...
And Frank could very quickly make customized test mules to perfect the lugged race frames
Facts from the Rumor forum:
Nukeproof wants to stay true to its UK roots. Doesn't want to spend the money on a big team with flashy truck. New rider has luscious locks.
There are two small (no truck or blue US school bus) UK based teams with Rider/Owners, but only one has long hair. Could we see a Nukeproof camper van pit set up?
Does anyone care about Scott in DH?
