I'm not racing chucklenuts. And you still gave me NO answers to my questions. Be on a team, be on a team, be top 50, 3 USAC riders. Continental? National Champion is the ONLY race example you gave. Anybody can copy & paste the USAC page. I asked WHERE is the list of races you can race to qualify for a World Cup?
Can't be top 50 UCI if there isn't a list of UCI points providing races. Can't race a "continental" if there is no list of Continental races. Can't be a "Federation" racer if there is no list of races to go to that put you on the list Teams can't "keep the points" if there is no list of races that give points
Crankworx races are "C3". That's it...that's the only list of races & don't even know what "level" C3 is.

That was a Conti tire media junket using Coast Range heli. I think they use that trail up on Rainbow or at least that’s where heli drops have been in the past.

Lol, wtf am i getting dragged into this for. But gives me a better idea of who went to the hassle to make a fake linkedin a few months ago to sh** talk me there of all places.
As far as which US races get points, go to the UCI calendar on the uci website and filter down to the mtb races specific to the US (or any country you want). It'll tell you which class it is. Last couple pages of the rule book UCI MTB Regulations will tell you how many points that event is worth. earlier in the same doc explains how else you can qualify.
Useful. Thank you! What @BGoldstone helped me learn: 2 US races were on the UCI calendar. WIndrock March & Rock Creek April "Points" are awarded based on finish time, regardless of Junior or Elite, an odd twist on DH races having the "fastest time of the day" prize, but basically all Juniors & Elites go into a single points bucket of fastest to slowest. UCI has THREE races in Philo, CA in Nov. under a "Triple Crown of Downhill" & contact is a trail builder w/ a one page website??? Also learned there are multiple categories of races to get points at and the "local" races get more points the longer the track time is.
So...path for a US racer to get to 2025 WhiteFace World Cup is : A, Petition USAC to be 1 of 3 US federation riders (have some results) B, Land a "GUEST" spot on an existing World Cup team(maiximum of 2 World Cups for a Guest)!
The "40 Point" minimum threshold has been marked through.
So, the plan for a US racer to get to WhiteFace next year would be: 1. Circle every Continental race you can get to. Max dad's credit card. 2. Stalk the UCI Calendar page for every single race that awards Class 1 Points, maybe get lucky at a Class 2 & scrounge a Class 3 if it's local 3. Pull in a mega-star outside of the sport celebrity and/or UBER wealthy, outside the industry sponsor to get a WildCard invited team together 4. Get onto a recognized Wild Card team & pray they're invited 5. Get on a 10 man rostered World Cup team 6 Stun the country by winning National Champs 7. Petition USAC. Wear that lame spider man jersey.

The Olympic park in PC isn’t owned by Vail. So that might be why. Not sure if there is enough vert though to pull off a WC DH track but it would be cool to pull the whole thing together with XC not far away.
Yeah. It’s not a ton of vert so wonder if they can really pull it off.
With Whistler and everything else going on with Vail, they may very well changing their tune on summer revenue opportunities.

Jacko been hinting at that for a bit and... It sounds more so like 'in the works' as opposed to 'dream one day'. I forget exactly where I saw him talking about it. But he just had a big smile saying 'we have a zone in mind' and the way in which he didn't want to say more kinda implied... We're figuring stuff out/in the works. As opposed to just waffling about an idea he hasn't pitched/worked out yet. I'm almost scared at what they cook up if it's a local track to Jacko's standards lol

I can't really see Rec Sites and Trails giving a permit to build Hardline on Crown Land in the S2S. Maybe they could find a way to build something in the AlpX heli tenure, but again that needs approval as it's not private land.
I'd say it's in the dreamers stage but happy to be proven wrong.
I was told they had a couple sites in mind. The Tassie trail builders were at crankworx and I believe (I haven't spoken to them yet)...
I was told they had a couple sites in mind. The Tassie trail builders were at crankworx and I believe (I haven't spoken to them yet) were shown around by red Bull for their thoughts. The Red Bull team were impressed at the Tassie course and safety standards and wanted their input on the BC course.
The name they were told is Hardline BC
I mean, I won't say it will never happen, but knowing what I know about how long rec sites and trails takes to approve new trails on Crown land for active long term clubs here in BC (hint, its YEARS) and more specifically the Sea to Sky...I can't see this happening for 2026 if it isn't at an already established ski area/bike park.
Nathan Pontvianne is back from injury after missing 4 races. He went 3rd fastest in timed training. He's podiumed in 2 European races in the past month and won one of them. He's definitely a rider to keep an eye on.
Mr. 100, Troy Brosnan, led all riders with a blistering timed run more than 7 seconds faster than the next man. I'm not going to say he's a lock to win this weekend, but he's certainly making those $100 Fantasy buys look like they could be the deal of the century (pun intended).

hell i might get called out by that guy if that happens.
Well, you're 17th in the real fantasy league, you're obviously good at calling winners! I just made my picks at the beginning of the season, Harriet Herndon being one I am a little bit surprised on....honestly not even sure if it was here on Vital or if I did Pinkbike! I certainly haven't updated it. Ha ha.
I just thought it might be interesting to assign American Riders, based on their likelihood to score, and some vague sense of how they might fit on an actual football team. (offense-only, of course).
Anyone know the story on Richie Rude? Not racing but posting he’s out on a ride. Maybe trying to get ready for enduro world champs? Just surprising, as all the teams should be scrapping for points to ensure dh entry next year.

Any word (or guesses) about whether we get a Q2 replay for this race? I checked Max and didn't see it. Trying not to spoil the excitement for myself, so asking here.
So how many people's remaining budget figure ends with $900? 🤣
Heck there aren't even riders under 10k now. I thought at the start of the season fresh juniors were sub-10k. I have a decent chunk left with nothing to do.
JVP we think Q2 highlights/replays are never done on XC weekends. Because they are simply happening at the same time. So... I'm not sure what the next race is that has DH but no XC. That would be the only time it occurs. Although I can't even trust that tbh.

What is the rule? UCI points are from October to October? EDIT: Points are on a 52 week rolling total calendar. Points drop off a year after they are earned.
Or maybe Yeti is forming a super team next year with an outside the industry brand that will let them have a Factory Team & thus no need for rider points. After all I learned from that trip down the UCI rabbit hole, if you have a contract spot on a factory team, you won't need to hunt points for a year.

Think he really wanted that rainbow jersey and he got it. I'm sure the Yeti team will be able to lock in a spot - no reason the UCI won't want Richie and Tyler racing in elite.
Oof. Didn't realize Danny broke some ribs during the break. And he did some rolling around on the ground at Les Gets, like everyone. Insane. Looks like pure suffering. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jw0fU_mLhOs

Bodi is not riding? I thought torn thumb ligament is generaly rideable you just need to tape and bandages and its rideable. I'm a weakling and could ride that way with a partial tear.

I think Luca is learning the ways of Troy Brosnan. Shocked to see he is 4th overall. He is 4th overall... While his best finish so far is a 5th. That is a WILDLY consistent rider day in day out qualies to finals. In front of a LOT of dudes who have a cup win.
Name one.

Mention about next year.
Wow. No Red Bull at Crankworx. That would be big.
I sure hope they continue to sponsor Rampage and Hardline. Other than WC, those are the main things I watch every year.
I have to admit, though, that trad. slopestyle seems a bit stale compared to WC, Fest, Rampage, and Hardline.
