We all know Shimano don’t make carbon cranks especially one thats compatible with a Bosch DU.
And we can all see its an RF crank

Arent most suspension designs optimized around a 32t chainring? Thats why it seems odd to me they are going that route
Ah, I was looking at the ebike which has Era cranks in the spec list too.
Apparently Shimano made a limited edition Dura Ace crankset in carbon in 2010
Even so, there are certain things we know with Shimano.
They will not be doing a carbon crank.
They will not be doing 1 9t high gear on their cassettes. They don't even offer 10t to the roadies because of the inefficiencies and slippage.

Shimano are more stubborn than I am and we'd have seen a production carbon crank (not an LE from 10 years ago) on their road groupsets already if there was one coming to mtb. And it being KTM suggests its just errors on their spec sheets which is super common across all brands.
For example a year or so ago Specialized had to give away a load of 700watt batteries with Levo sales because they were delivered with 500 when the spec stated 700 (in the UK).
A couple of days ago I Heard the crazyest thing, that shimano is about to drop a 1x ROAD groupset. Hey, maybe they are caling GRX a road groupset (it is) maybe they have something else...
That’s no surprise as GRX has been 1x for a long time now

Shimano has experience with 9t cogs. Shimano Capreo cassettes back in the 2010s offered that option. I ran it for a while and had fine luck though that was on a DH bike.
I wonder if the cranks are carbon or if the ring is carbon... CRANKSET Shimano XTR M9200-12 Carbon 32T makes me think the ring is carbon. If it were phrased CRANKSET Shimano XTR Carbon M9200-12 32T my mind would lean toward crank. Complete speculation.
New Sentinel tomorrow, not sure how much is changing, but in-frame storage will be there. There may also be another model, potentially the Scout?
They will launch Di2 GRX 1x ,XTR and Xt together because they all share the same architecture.
I'd bet on a steeper HT, more progression and (hopefully) a bit more stack.
No it's 100% serious. Gotta eliminate that pedal kick even from the tires.
A bluetooth chain and crank would solve all pedal kickback

Great trivia. Never heard of this super limited production product. Wild. Here's an article from 2008 about the crank for anyone else who's curious. Honestly, Cranks are the last place I think I need Carbon on my bike. Frame, Bars, and wheels is where carbon is good for the average rider. Let them keep doing the aluminum hollowtec II cranks, they're my favorite in the market anyways.
Carbon cranks and carbon bars both seem a bit sketchy to me. Ive seen quite a few snapped and it looks like it could hurt if your in a bad spot when it does snap.
That 9-45t cassette from shimano is neat. I've wanted a tighter 12 speed option for a while other than stuff like e13 and garbaruk. I ran e13's 9t stuff for a while and on most bikes it worked well, some bike shapes didn't play nice with the 9t for the most part it worked out well.
Shimano had that XTR 10-45t cassette but as far as I could tell it was vapourware; I've never managed to see one in real life. But 9-45t allegedly coming on a bike? XTR LINKGLIDE being 11 speed? This is crazy. it's like they listened to enthusiasts instead of the MORE GEARS BIGGER CASSETTES MORE BETTER crowd.
That 10-45 12speed XTR cassette is definetly not vapourware. Ran one for 2-3 season and currently running a SLX 10-45 12sp cassette (there is also a XT 10-45 version) with the same XTR GS 12 speed derailleur. They are also the cassette used currently for the 12 speed GRX gravel group so plenty of stock available. But there is no SLX GS derailleur, only XT or XTR version. My next build will be XT GS derailleur and 10-45 SLX cassette with XTR chain.
The vapourware stuff was the 10-45 11 speed hyperglide+ cassette that was mentionned during XTR launch but was never actually available.
I´m running the XT GS derailleur and Sram 11s 10-42 XG117 75 cassete, worques great!
Would be nice to have a wirless 11s deralleur option.

I run exactly the same set up. I use a xt shifter.
New Sentinel has a reach in size L shorter than the Smuggler. The pendulum finally swings?
