5000ft vertical in trail mode on my Vala, I don’t want or need to zoom round with 100nm, quite happy with my dialled down 60, still able to put in plenty of effort. E-bikes have predictably become an arms race for power/torque.

I would prefer the bosch as it doesn't rattle and the weight would probably be very close with non removable batteries. But it has to be the whole bike. I don't know why people are so fixated on motors and their power. I'm more interested in how the bike handles on trails. Any motor will get me up there.

I hadn’t realised the new Bosch cx5 stuff was that much lighter, the older stuff was a fair bit heavier for equivalent battery capacity. The DJI bike must have saved a chunk in the frame too as the specs on the bike ware more than acceptable for the intended riding, you’d probably swap in some heavier casing tyres but otherwise it’s capable right off the bat.

At the severe risk of having someone quote this post in a reply with a link to a different tech-rumours banishment thread, I'll reply. It's not as exciting as you'd think. The bike is supposed to use a 230x60 shock to deliver 165mm of travel. When I originally built it, I used a 230x57.5 shock as an emergency shock (Last year I broke an enduro frame on a Monday, drove two hours each way to pick up a Claymore frame from a shop on Wednesday, and left for a four-day Whistler closing weekend trip on a Thursday after staying up...

But thats mainly due to the bike right? Dji motor: 2,52kg + dji battery 800Wh: 3,74kg = 6,26kg Bosch CX5: 2,8kg + 800Wh battery: 3,9kg = 6,7 kg So the system difference is 440g right? Power is still impressive. With the high power you probably need a quite big battery, otherwise it'll be empty quite soon. For me its still...

New Sentinel tomorrow, not sure how much is changing, but in-frame storage will be there. There may also be another model, potentially the Scout?

Would y'all want to see a 15-minute VitalMTB video with back-to-back testing on a section of brutal rocky chunder with different pedal kickback theories to see if the Ochain really works as advertised?

You should test ride a Druid V2. Efficiency losses are well compensated with the technical climbing ability. The bike is just less slowed down compared to a horst link while pedaling flat rooty/rocky paths. And I don't even feel the efficiency losses tbh since there is no need for a lower guide. Complexity is not that high either with a...

Don't be offended mate. Yeah, probably because racing is not my job I was hoping they would come around with a lighter version of it, you guessed that almost right. Because I don't want to pedal 1500g tires with wire bead. There is a difference between the DH22 (which profile we see more or less on Kelan Grants bike) in...

Seems to me you are not Sam Hill and you haven't pedaled those tires (the dh version with wire bead). Also for front tires pedaling performance matters, especially for racers. And their fitness level is probably way above ours...

Does anyone know if the DH22 will come as Enduro version soon? Front tire of Nukeproof Racer Kelan Grant....can hardly imagine they are racing the DH version. Pedals like wet clay...

So when is the Slash going to be released? I got an email from Trek showing it off so I figured it would already be on the front page?
