Youre right, my bad
5mm=.197"
I did quick math in my head
12mm=1/2" on mechanical drawings
so a touch less than 1/4" is what my original comment was meant to be. Still totally negligible as wheel travel increase.
I know this has probably been mentioned, but I saw a FW bike in rock creek with an electric RAD coil and a controller on the left side of the bars. Didn’t get any pics or figure out who the rider was 🙁
john hall racing a pinion-equipped M1 at monster pro DH. pic attached. video on our insta stories. we'll have more pics and interview later.
Asa had one on his rig with sensors on the brake calipers as well. It was in the slideshow.
I think youre onto something with this line of thinking.
removable battery, charge it with USB while at the office, or at home. Use the proprietary charger for fast charging.
USB also provides a way to charge/run accessories (phone, bike computer, lights, etc)
Internet forums - where people tell other people what they can and can’t feel.
To each their own really, neither of you are particularly right or wrong. Just depends on the lens you use to view the world.
Your mom could feel the 5mm difference
I know 5mm ain’t much but it’s not “like less than an 1/8”
They are so close to…
it's more than a month that you can see the 404 pages on mcr tho
Ratboy on the Cannondale DH proto frame. Wonder if they are reviving the concept, or he was just looking for a DH bike and they gave him the old frame that was kicking around.
Don't know what the geo or kinematics are, but super interesting concept with separating spring and damper.
Not really bike tech related, but does anyone know what's going on with Alpinestars riders using the MX helmet (Dak, Dunne..) ? Ethan Craik was using it last year as well. I don't think it is a new DH helmet because it looks exactly like the sm10. Craik is also back to a standard Bluegrass DH helmet now
Yea but the embargo date is within a week or so.
This Tuesday according to their insta
Jeez man,
You can be better than that
Yup. The 9th according to deals as well.
Any news on a revised trek slash / e slash or rail?
Colby Pringle has been riding his around Squamish as well. Maybe they are restarting development of the platform
Already spotted the new colorway on IG, assuming that's Rhys
He’s just on a Jekyll with a 40
Perhaps out the same mold but I'm pretty sure it was a mullet with a long shock. It's definitely set up as a proper DH bike and not just his enduro race bike with a 40 on it for shuttles
That isn't a Jekyll front triangle - it has a straight top tube with a shock mount hanging from it!
Not a Jekyll seatstay either.
i think that‘s a new DH helmet from alpinestars, chinvent on dak‘s helmet is different to the MX and current DH helmet.
Looks the same to me?
It looks like Ronan has been on the MX helmet recently. The top line S-M10 seems to be the helmet of choice for the rest of the team and other Astars sponsored riders as well. The total lack of available information into relative DH helmet safety is really frustrating (i.e. the margin by which they exceed standards). I've had several major concussions, and made it a priority to invest in the best helmet possible but still impossible to differentiate as a willing consumer between the Leatt 8.0, RPC, D4, Dissident II, 6D, Giro spherical, the A-stars mx or dh helmets, and others.
Not an expert, but have worked in the industry forever and sat through many product knowledge meetings. Buy a mouth guard and a neck brace.
you‘re right, i just looked at their top level mx helmet, the m10… dak seems to wear the slightly cheaper m8 helmet.
From the website it looks like they don't make the sm8 anymore.
