Hah. So a lot of us were predicting Fezzari for Kyle and Rachel. They'd been spotted on the brand. Another poster who appeared in the know kept insisting, "They won't be on Fezzari." I see what he was doing, now. Well played, sir. Well played.
Official Continental GT press release - Danny Hart, Vero Widmann, Chris Cumming, Harry Molloy
This small family team was formed back in 2021 to support two young Irish riders Ronan Dunne and Chris Cumming break into World Cup Racing. Had it not been for the vision of Continental Tires and Nukeproof Bikes none of this would have been possible. After a standout season in 2023 as a fully-fledged UCI Elite Team, no one could have imagined the turmoil that would ensue for not just the team but the entire mountain bike industry.
During the winter of 2023, while the future of Nukeproof hung in the balance, we did not know if we were going racing in 2024. Then the news came on February 21st that our bike sponsorship had ended abruptly. The team ethos of being quick to react meant that we had already courted the team to several interested parties, but GT Bicycles was our preferred option with a World Cup winning platform and a great working relationship with Continental. With GT stepping in alongside Continental, we are extremely excited to announce that for 2024, the team is officially the Continental GT Racing Team!
It's been difficult keeping this out of the headlines but finally we can announce and welcome x2 World Champion Danny Hart! With over x19 World Cup podiums, Danny’s legendary status needs no introduction!
Being a continued member of the team, Italian National Champion, Vero brings a wealth of talent and experience with x6 World Cup podiums to her name. At the final World Cup of 2023 she left the season standing on the podium stage in 3rd place!
Chris is a core member of the team as one of Ireland’s hot, up and coming talents. Chris not only represents the young talent in the team but assists with team logistics and of course brings the personality everyone knows and loves. Leaving the ‘23 season with his first qualifying, he’s keener than ever to show what he can do!
Harry brings x16 World Cup seasons of experience and team management to the table. Prioritising support in and out the tape for the team, he’s still racing most of the World Cups and has a long history of events like Hardline.
We are also delighted to continue with our long term sponsors; Bluegrass with their world class protection, DT Swiss, Oakley, Peaty’s Products, ODI and Crankbrothers. We are also proud to present our new partners; Kenny Clothing, TRP and Renthal.
"We're thrilled that GT has come on board to partner with Continental and keep these super exciting athletes at the forefront of World Cup racing. We truly believe in these racers and what Mark and the team bring to the sport, we are so proud of what this team has already achieved and are stoked to be able to continue to partner together and keep the team racing ahead. The team is home to a combination of both up and coming talent and highly experienced voices, so we can’t wait to see them pushing their limits on the Gravity range and our prototype tires.” - Kelsey Rollet - Head of Global Bicycle Continental Tires
“It’s been a wild ride pulling this together in the last week, but GT is very proud to partner with Mark and the team. Last minute drives to get riders bikes to test, figuring out the logistics of getting frames to riders in three different countries are just some of the hurdles that we’re overcoming to make this happen, as we go racing within weeks, but it’s a great example of like-minded people coming together to make a little bit of magic happen.” - Clive Gosling - Head Of Marketing GT Bicycles
“Coming off the success of 2023 we never expected the turmoil that would engulf us as a team, it’s been a roller coaster! A gen- uine big thank you goes out to Continental Tires for their continued support and belief in the programme and a massive wel- come to GT Bicycles for stepping in at the very last minute as a frame sponsor. 2024 is looking prime with the addition of Kenny Clothing, TRP and Renthal. Everyone held fast as we worked through our plans to secure our 2024 race programme and I am indebted to all our sponsors who have remained with us. Everyone in Continental GT Racing, athletes, mechanics, and road crew are stoked to be associated with such iconic brands.” - Mark Cumming Owner/Manager
Wait so Hart isn't on nukeproof?😂
That drum track is sooooo funky. #yachtrock
I thought Danny was definitely on Nukeproof
I didn't see any mention of Nigel Page in that press release, has he been left out in the cold?
Different team I think
Nigel was a part of the CRC Nukeproof//Nukeproof SRAM teams i thought ?
To my understanding Conti Nukeproof was run by Mark Cumming and is an entirely separate entity from the other Nukeproof teams.
Yes you're right. I had a brainfart and got the two mixed up.
I think there was a picture of him riding one, can anyone confirm this?
He probably nuke'd that idea when he heard who the new owner of the brand is.
Or the owner Nuke’d it when he realised he’d have to work with Danny’s dad! Mike Ashley doesn’t fool with just anyone.
Kurtis Downs rides for ....Ari and he was on some sort of DH bike at Darkfest and when you look at his socials. If I recall correctly last year he'd ride a Tr11 as a DH bike but this looks like it could be some unreleased (Fezz)Ari DH bike.

That's funny. I've been told that his dad is a pain too & I'm not anywhere NEAR the circuit.
There's another rider whose dad is a pain & since my source has proven reliable about the daddy Hart info, I'll assume rider #2's dad is as well.
Crazy world we live in. Live halfway around the world and you can hear a chicken fart in Taipei if you ask.
Today I learned, Chris Cumming’s nickname is Cumdog. It’s a shame we aren’t in the Freecaster days, him and the Redcar Rocket being on the same team would have Warner pissing himself with innuendo.
This is exactly why I follow this forum, Cumdog will reign supreme in 2024!!!!!!!!!
all of a sudden people are uncontrollably exposed , more and more, even though they are not super high profile public figures.. we owe this tidbit to a recent podcast..
It's common knowledge if you live in the UK
Ho waw, bottle bosses on the bottom of the downtube of a downhill bike. In a curved area. Seems legit.
Anyone who's had the joy of being on an uplift driven by him didn't need to listen to that podcast.
What podcast we talking about here?
Danny was on the Continental Nukeproof Racing team, so was riding a Nukeproof until recently.
That team has a new frame sponsor since CRC/Wiggle/Nukeproof/Vitus/etc has effectively disappeared apart from the brand names.
The new frame sponsor is GT, so it's now the Continental GT Racing team.
Is Daddy Cumdog still running the team?
didn't Daddy Norton drop a cumdog reference in the B praccy pod last year? My memory is telling me it was the Snowshoe worldcup recap show
Yes. I heard this awkward nickname in the berm gap talk, the one JGoldstone did perfectly in his race run, wherever that was. May have been a vlogger.
Rough. Cumdog Millionaire. As a forward facing nickname? I’m old.
That sounds familiar.
With the kit they're currently wearing, it looks like this announcement was a little premature, I'll wait for the full release.
My supreme has those. To bolt on frame protection
