but regardless if Only Fan has branched out to other sports disciplines and attempting to turn the platform into something more than ‘pay preview peep show’ … these other sports don’t have the UCI to deal with, so unless he’s not planning racing this year or has a spare blank helmet, the UCI won’t allow it. I’d imagine there inbox is already receiving emails.. parents of little kids looking up to him, female riders in the sport.. etc. I remember Danny Mac had a video at the Playboy mansion that received backlash from the public and had to be removed. 

can see it ruffling a a few feathers.. but maybe that’s just what Lewis is wanting. 

I don't know if it's a sure thing that OnlyFans would count under this since it's a platform that people use to release and accept payment for their content, whether it be pornographic in nature or otherwise. Does OnlyFans actually create any content themselves?

Only fans was set up for fans to be able to financially support the creators they like. Kinda like patreon. It then escalated into becoming a porn site (effectively). So much so that they are viewed just like pornhub is and at one point announced a ban of porn on their site. Needles to say their business case almost evaporated and they reverted their decision. Not quickly enough as a lot of creators switched platforms. 

FWIW Hagerty had a drag race video with a superbike Ducati in it where the rider is also sponsored by OnlyFans... 

He confirmed in this thread himself he isn't racing, or has a minimized racing schedule. 

Good for him I say, riders need to look after their financial interest in a career that can often be short lived, an outside industry sponsor is a good way to get a much needed cash injection. Young Lewis has used his "head" no pun intended and capitalised on this growing platform. 

There are 2 riders in AMA Supercross that have support form OF as well, seems they are making  bit of a push for different content.

From the other side: 'All joking aside, OnlyFans has ramped up its marketing outside of the adult industry recently, sponsoring several moto riders and having an increased presence at Dakar this year.'

Looking at the current sponsoring cuts and layoffs inside the bike industry Lewis does seem to have made a good catch at the right time. I can also imagine a media company trying to expand in new markets having some nice budgets.

I imagine my missus's double disappointment, first when she finds out I got an Only Fans account, and second when she finds out it's to follow a dude on a mountain bike.

It's basically an exercise in following the money in the porn industry done by a Financial Times journalist. It's a really interesting listen!

Also, Nathan Florence has been using onlyfans to deliver surfing content for a while now. It will be interesting to see how Discovery and the UCI respond to this if he does any racing.

I guess you go where a paycheck is.  But it does seem odd that a content creator would choose to create content on a site that will naturally make it really hard for fans to view the content.  Parents aren’t going to ok an of account for little Johnny to watch mtb.  And I think a large portion of adult view a lot of their content while at the work desk.

that said it’s hard to believe of doesn’t have shitloads of cash to throw away to try to widen their image beyond user generated porn.  Maybe he’s still able to post as much to YouTube as he desires.

Parents are too busy setting up OnlyFans accounts for little Jimmy & Joanie to cash in to notice.

I wonder if only fans approached Lewis or if he approached them. If only fans decided they wanted a mountain biker I’d bet they made offers to a lot of higher profile racers/youtubers and were declined before Lewis. No offence to Lewis.

Lewis moved on from only racing to content creation and shared his process with the druids. He was riding last year Into the Gnar and his riding level is on very high level. He cleared the features with a similar precision and style then Yoan or you would expect from Remy. Yes he is looking into a different business model and therefore a valuable candidate for only fans. 

I kinda agree with what manny.bike is getting at..I mean Lewis B has our attention now, right? These kind of decisions being made kinda reminds me of a story from a friend that works for a (core)snowboard brand that are highly focused on sustainability, ambassadors and saving the planet and winters kinda thing..they did'nt really relate to the usual crowd, so long story short - after a short while designer brands starting showing interest in the brand - wanted to do collabs etc. Its just a profit thing and wanting a piece of that pie and of course to reach out to those customers and broaden the fan base - but as mountainbikers (of any kind of bike really)..do we really need more fans? Just saying..

I love how "no offence" is still used as an attempt to justify an offensive statement.  Sorry, doesn't work that way - still offensive and unnecessary; the question could have been asked in a different and unoffensive way.

Seems to be a wide rift within satisfying what makes a team 'roster'.  Somehow, recognizing how females have results is racing has also included riders accepting cash from, basically, exploitation of women.

What you feel is exploitation my girlfriend feels is a super easy and lucrative second job.  Works for herself as opposed to making a low wage at an extremely profitable medical  company that required a 4 year college degree to get a cert for.  Not fully aware her financials but I’ll pay approximately 40,000 in student loan interest by the time I’m paid off to Wells Fargo and other banks and I dropped out of school cause my families financial situation changed drastically in the ‘08 financial crisis.

I don’t know but by my standards having an of seems a lot less exploitative than most people’s situation

 Only Fabs got in touch with me last year wanting to do a similar thing. They mentioned how keen they are to branch away from the porn content as that was never their initial goal but just something that happened which they rolled with.

I think they’ve had some issues with payment companies not wanting to handle porn money and they’re desperately trying to change their image.

I had to turn them down though, as cool as it could be I pride myself on family friendly content and cut didn’t sit well with me too have that porn association.

I did wonder if people would take them up, fair play for being brave enough to do it! YouTube seems to be doing its best to f**k over creators so any competition or alternatives can only be a good thing.
