Looks like a carbon single high-pivot AM/enduro e-bike by the looks of it (more likely an AM one cause the fork looks like max 150-160mm).

Had one of those come into the shop the other week.. My thought was that Trek was an idler away from being way ahead of the game..

Apologies if this is the wrong spot, but I’ve seen some users on this forum posting linkage kinematic drawings/graphs for different bikes, and was wondering if anyone had them for the Transition Spire.
Just picked u]one up, and I’m curious about the different suspension kinematic graphs.

Thank you

The rear end of that Brazn must track as stiff as a wet noodle. Having previously ridden a hsp carbon bike there was quite a bit of flex.

@carlinojoevideo if I was a betting man, this would be the layout to drive the shock I would bet on with a horst-link layout to define the axle path.

Speaking of retro DH, I can't believe how much power nostalgia has. The Honda RN-01 is still such a magical bike, even after all these years.

There’s a podcast with Greg Minar and he talks about the bike. He was saying the forks would still be up to par today. Some cool technology like a rear shock that locked out on a timer then would go plush again after 10 seconds.

I’d love to test one!

Sram was granted a patent for this concept last year. Interesting.

it looks like the motor and battery might be encased in the rear segment; maybe the parallelogram and cage are replaceable as a module? this has the potential to be awesome and make replacing/repairing a damaged AXS derailleur more affordable and less wasteful.

plus with a second arm and added rigidity, this might make bending derailleur hangers into a thing of the past.

wishful thinking?

The fact that SRAM made a proprietary derailleur hanger that is also backwards compatible to be used as a “regular” hanger is admirable. These are the kinds of “new standards” I can get behind.

The cassette looks interesting as well.

Seems like the big 3 sprockets are connected with rivets and the lower are machined from one block.

"SRAM T-Type chain only" written on the cassette. Looks similar to the flattop road chain.

Wonder if they've come up with a better bearing for the pulley wheels, or are they still going to wear out in 12weeks and then the shifting goes to shit.

Pinned cogs in the largest 3; probably a different material to save weight (probably alloy vs steel for the rest of the cassette). Assuming that's a 50T or 52T in the largest, they've also fixed the awkward 8/10-tooth jump, which is great.

Looks like sram now has their own version of centerlock?

That hanger looks like it can break your frame in a crash, looks too sturdy

4th season here, but I did open up, clean out (and de-rustified) and regreased the bearings a few times. And I have a new spare set in stock just in case.

That's just a fancy lockring. You can see the cassette splines near the hub spacer.

49 teeth + whatever is behind the hub, so I'm guessing 52 teeth on the big one. And looks like the large three sprockets are aluminium, yeah, so it's not only the 52T that'll wear out Smile

And FINALLY the 10T gap is gone.

There's a LOT going on here, and all of it looks good except for the centerlock junk.

Looks like smaller gear jumps between the biggest two cogs, which would be a HUGE improvement. Monoblock in the smaller cogs with pinned larger 3 for something costing/weighing between GX and X01.

That new sturdy hanger looks like a win. GX derailleurs are durable except the cheap metal-on-metal B-bolt kills them due to slop developing. No slop with this setup.

Edit after looking through pics:
I take that part about cost/weight between GX and X01 back. It's hanging off a pro xc racer whip, so it's going to be lighter. Current guess is monoblock, then either ti or aluminum on the big 3. Screw durability, the pro xc guys only care about weight.

My dreams of a 10-52 X01 with good spacing are on hold again.
