available to order first.. But, that's been an issue as of late.. And, the price increases due to the whole COVID-19 thing hasn't made it any easier..
The old shop rat switcheroo is definitely not as easy as it was a couple of years ago.

I still remember you could get a Lyrik and an X9 drivetrain for 2000ish € (Rose, so direct to customer with one of the early brands doing that) in 2012 I think. Then the same bike was ~2500 € in 2013. Today the same level of bike is what, 4500, 5000 €?

I've heard rumors of one of treks brands going DTC, but nothing I can offer proof of other than a friend working at another shop mentioning it when we were out for a beer. But their packaging patent does point to it. I don't think large companies will cut out shops, but the shop customer isn't who they're going after here.

That old bike might be too short and too small, but seeing Peaty in that kit, on that frame... it just feels right!

So bike equipment progression has yielded ~0.5 sec/year in speed Laughing

I wonder what the difference would have been wearing the 2021 kit on the 2006 bike? IIRC when Cathro raced in the skinsuit they figured it was worth about 1 second/minute (so 4ish seconds on the Ft. William track).

Saw these beauties outside of a condo in snowshoe last month. Looks to be a new habit, similar shapes to the new Jekyll and Scalpel released this year. I didn't notice it at the time but the new FSI is the other bike on the rack.

Had to wait to upload cuz I forgot my vital password. Whoopsie.

Not sure if this has been discussed here or not, but Hope' new prototype HB-916 looks pretty interesting. It's said to be longer and slacker than any of its predecessors, and it sports the on-trend high-pivot idler as well. It's apparently meant to be much more race-oriented than the HB-160, and Hope are saying it will be available sometime in the spring of 2022.

That seems like an odd move considering the Bronson was just released as a mullet. Maybe mullet and 29" variants with an increase in travel to further separate it from the Bronson?

What in the good gosh darn is happening at the dropout end of that rear triangle?

It looks like the front half of the bike is possibly glued and/or bolted together in two halves? Which seems pretty out of Steber's wheelhouse as far as construction methods (the dude loves to weld). I have no insider information on this bike but it doesn't look like an Intense beyond the suspension layout.

my guess would be a test mule rather than a finished product.

I thought the same thing but realized its most likely a adjustable drop out to run a mullet set up. I agree beside the suspension its really hard to pin point what brand this could be. Never know with Steber though. I'm sure alot of us would have never thought he would go full carbon either.

Why?? Mullet as an option or straight mullet?

If the latter, what would be their full 29er enduro racer then?

Honestly it would make more sense to make the Nomad mullet if you ask me...

Not sure if this is old news or I missed someone else picking up on this - 2022 Lyrik - aside from Flight Attendant, it looks to have same style crows as Zeb, and pressure release valves on the lowers.
