hamncheez, what do you mean? mullet made that post under their own account. if they want to delete it, they can. i was bummed to see it removed, but it was their call, and they sent an email letting us know they pulled it, so we knew what was going on.
Sorry, to be more clear, I meant the communities response to the guy. It was clear that it was just one guy with all those accounts, and he was acting irrationally, but I don't remember him actually attacking anyone personally (other than that one comment that was deleted), but everyone ganged up on him. He might have deserved it, but man he really did put a lot of work into that press release. Those builds with their color coordination were well done, but every comment besides his own just trashed the bike.

If the dude has mental issues, then cyber bullying isn't going to help with that. I just feel really bad for the guy.

It was less than ideal from both sides, for sure, but it would help a lot to at least give some information instead of buckling down and beating his own drum, calling out "geeks". People on the Internet will be idiots (case in point over here), but it's just people on the Internet. At the end of the day it's a bit different when a company does it. People depend on the companies for their livelihoods, while the same is not true of idiots on the Internet (at least not in my case, I have a secure, good job outside the industry, one that I should be doing right now instead of being an idiot on the Internet 😁).

rileywilllliams !

Woo, I feel like one of those bike sleuths that can map out rear wheel path based on a blurry picture taken of a proto from a gondola 2 miles away.

i did check the time stamps on the comments while they were active, it didn't start off bad, but it devolved quickly when they refused to answer questions and it became readily apparent that there were some shenanigans occurring from their side (multiple accounts, etc). i can only feel so bad for them when they start off their press release "No marketing bs...." then proceed with nothing but marketing BS and a stubborn refusal to answer technical questions.

I've seen the identical press release on numerous sites now, with similar coordinated efforts in the comment section. one of my favorites was "I absolutely LOVE that they don’t go in-depth with the frame numbers. I’ve been in the bike biz trenches for almost 30 years and I can’t stand talking to box-reader internet junkie consumers about stack and reach numbers like it matters. BECAUSE IT DOESN’T. EVER." they seem to be oblivious to the fact that posting press release son these websites is only going to invite these kinds of discussions and questions, because that's where the better informed mtb consumer is going for information, and they will be completely written off for the kind of response they had.

for me personally, the fact that they liked to talk about their patented suspension, yet refused to post the patent # or even answer any questions about it is extremely suspect.

re: mullet (and we can just let it go after this and keep to actual tech rumors please) - we ended up locking/deleting an account or two IIRC. it's pretty obvious when comments are trying to be stacked and we'll handle accordingly. there was one person we thought was a duplicate account (same IP address) but it was two diff people from the same bike shop apparently. they emailed explaining and seemed genuine enough in their email, so it's not always cut and dry. it's done here though, so let's move on with high pivot gossip : )

That's a new carbon rim as well. the profile is much flatter than whats currently offered by Bontrager.

No more Patrol from Transition seems crazy. That'd be like Specialized ending the Stumpjumper line.

Stumpy went 29". Patrol seemingly hasn't. I mean if the name will change, then it won't.

Can’t imagine needing anything longer than the sentinel short of a DH bike, are they finally taking it to a 12?

whatever it is, it looks to use the same front triangle mold that all their current models use....

Matt G from GG has hinted on RideMonkey that there are subtle tweaks coming to the Trail Pistol geo. Based on the tires in that photo (Dissector/Rekon), that would line up. The wording might be a hint that they're moving to carbon rear ends? They've also mentioned that they're having a hard time getting enough tubing to make rear ends.

judging from that, I'd say the rear triangle going all carbon?

Upon zooming in on the original photo, the rear shock looks a heck of a lot different than the current Super Deluxe. Maybe a new shock in the works from Rockshox? 'Bout time they updated the Super Deluxe to keep up with Fox.

Oh shoot. Nice catch with the shock. It looks different indeed. It has an old ttx vibe with the orizontal reservoir. Will they come out with an high speed adjustable shock? WC riders might prefer it for quiick changes over having to switch shocks or reshimming them.

That's my interpretation, so I'll second the guess of carbon rear ends.

I hope this doesn't make the pistola redundant.
