I still hate everything about this lawsuit, I don't really get the reason behind it
Edit: nevermind I just took a look at the bike and the seat tube is almost straight, it has a very slight bend at the bottom
I uploaded two pictures, one of a carbine and one of the Tazer, but only the carbine showed up.....
But with a patent don't you have to defend it or it becomes obsolete? Or was that just Specialized marketing team at it again?
Yeah, if you don't sue someone, but do sue someone else, they can use that non-sue (ha...) as grounds for a dismissal or something. So, 'you didn't sue them, you can't sue us'.
So... Devinci just posted a weird post (to me atleast). They are not currently planning to sell their new DH bike. This could mean they are over producing DH rigs or they'll keep selling their curret bike, which is now declared not to be their current best. I really whish they'll sell the new one, it looks stunning to me. BTW Is it just me or are they fading away? No Factory dh team ( yes they had good results, but Unior Devinci is on par with Propain and others second tier teams), less present in EWS. (But let's not steer off topic)
How come no one has done this before it makes sense from all points.

Just make It dual crown... More stiffness with minimal weight penalty.

yes does look pretty awesome! as opposed to this questionable solution from Avy. I mean, I'm sure it performs great but I'm not a fan of the execution.
From all points apart from the point of it only giving you a larger spring volume and nothing else? Go single crown for clearance or go dual crown for added stiffness and the volume, doing it half way doesn't really make sense... You get the negatives of both worlds (with very little advantages).
As for Devinci, it was a test, making a test bike and saying the intention was to make a faster bike doesn't necessarily mean that was achieved. It could have been slower or worse on some other way. But you don't know that until you test things.
Also, it's Unior Devinci, not Devinci UR - UR rides Polygons
As for second tier team, which teams are first tier? Are GT and Pivot part of that?

My hypothesis is larger air and more tunable air springs is going to be the next thing pushed by suspension companies. We will see damping swapped over to the left leg and canisters like the Vorsprung Secus added to the bottom of the right legs. Lighter and less expensive than doing dual crowns.

To me that's just screaming that they were testing this to see if the design worked and you'll see a high pivot spartan coming in hot to replace the current one one the EWS circuit next season.
Also it says that the DH bike sales thread has some traction and with the rumors that they're taking time off DH it sounds like the Wilson maybe on the chopping block or the "we'll keep selling it until sales really"

I wrote an article about Specialized's new Demo/Enduro suspension patent. The change is slight, but this patent does incorporate a long travel E-bike. So, we might be seeing a Demo or Enduro E-bike soon. This was just released on Dec 1st, so like everything I try to write, it should be the first look (I hope). Hope you enjoy it!

So we all know that Loics suspension has been super dailed for a while now, and a lot must be with all their data stuff. But here is my thoguht, sort of connected to the data capabilaties within their team. I know that Jack Reading did something with weights on his bike, and presumably with some input from Chris Porter. So there must be something to it, Chris Porter does not mess around when it comes to Racing.
So what stands in the way of the big teams to mess around with this, and specially the ones with alot of knowlage in data acqusition? It makes a lot of sense for those guys to really get some solid data on the matter, i do get the Jack Reading have done a lot of testing, but it must be on time and feel. What kind of data would you get with testing on different steepnes, bikeparky, gradient, natural. There must be some wight you could put on/in the bike for a certain kind of track, if you have data to back it up.
And to clarify, i am not thinking of that Black box in his bike, that has been discussed plenty. My hunch is that this has been going on for some while.
Would they be able to keep something like this a secret?
Just a thought.

What CP did with Reading´s bike was mostly to offset what heavier wheels would do to sprung/unsprung mass ratio with him running cushcore there and then. Why others don´ t do it? Most pros don´t know pretty much anything about suspension, not even really basic stuff, then there is marketing that still pushes lighter bikes (yes, even DH bikes, just go back to new Gambler press release...Hey, look at us, we made the lightest DH frame in the world. Awesome, now we have heavy as fuck 29er wheels transfering all the energy to the super light frame and to the rider). Do you think there is many racers who would hazard with what is their only income to experiment with something that goes against everything they have been hearing all those years? Of course not, same as with geometry, it took approx. million years to get to where we are now from what basically was full suss road bikes with wider tires for christ sake.
Would it be hard to hide t from view? Not really, there is plenty of space on the bike where you can easily fit heavy inserts, some of those multipurpose inserts are very popular in non DH MTBing (edc, swat, bontrager tools etc), you have a lot of room in the crank spindles, seat tubes etc...So if you really want to, there is plenty of space and no one would notice...Only company that was doing something that could have gone mass market is (or was) orange with 329 frame.
