Commentators have to wear sports jackets. One has to have no clue what is going on or what the sport actually is and other one gets interrupted half way through what they are saying by an advert/promotion.
It's how professional sports work.
I somehow ended up watching some E-sport (rocket league-don't ask) last night. The commentary team were all wearing (and obviously made to from how uncomfortable they looked)- sports jackets. It has to be bland.It has to be generic.Individuality will not be tolerated.
Much less spicy than my speculation that WB/Disco petitioned pod platforms to take it down because it was too hard hitting. 🤣
A counterexample in e-sports is competitive Pokemon is commentated all by former or current players, or people active in the community on YouTube, ect. I guess the difference there is it's not a game with a ball and is an intricate game off chess. It's hilarious that Rocket League and Competitive Pokemon are likely watched by more people than DH (they're free!), and also have that illusive audience WB is chasing that doesn't take part in the game/sport. What a time to be alive.

Competitive Pokemon was not on my Vital bingo card for today lol
wait but hold on what if we made EDR into competitive Pokemon-GO! so racers would spend the day trying to collect as many Pokemon as possible?
This would also make it easier to follow as you could just look at each racer's bag as the day progresses >

Really I think ric and Josh wanted to do it and since they have been working with eso for sometime they got the job. Then disco made them hire Kate mason based on her resume/education.
I doubt rob was ever truly considered.
Redbull made it very clear that they were not interested in letting Rob out of his contract with them, WB didn't even have the option if they'd wanted it to be fair.
Warner is better off. He's doing great stuff with Red Bull. He works with hard enduro, has a podcast etc.

Heard a rumor on the OTB podcast (Pretty much just NZ dudes talking shit about dh for an hour) that there will be a Commencal Super Team with Camille and Ben.
I can't imagine Max Commencal giving up Cam Balanche so easily.
There's no guaranteeing Cam Bal comes back. She's had a BUNCH of injuries & is pretty toasted right now.
I realize she will because she'll have a contract someplace making it worth it, but it's a hard road.
Wouldn't surprise me if she walked away. But Myriam & Tahnee I thought would walk away recently too.
On Making Up the Numbers, Emmy has indicated that Cam has been exploring other bike options and actually feels positive about her racing this season (crashes aside). Emmy seemed to be saying that Cami is still ready to compete and is anxious to get back on the mix. Of course, that could just be self-serving publicity for potential sponsors, but I’ll take her at her word.

Sounds like the majority of Enduro teams will be folding. Lots of high profile riders will be on their own "provateer" setups

I'm about as die hard an Enduro fan as they come, and even I didn't know some races were happening some weekend this year. There is no (good) coverage outside of some top pros putting in good YouTube content.
And there is definitely no space left to join DH...
It can work out really well for people , Greg Callaghan has had his best year in ages on his own set up .
