Microspine drivers are a blight against humanity and should die in a fire along with the stupid plastic spacer they require to prevent Shimano cassettes from creaking like a haunted house. The only thing that might be worse than the microspine interface and its woefully anemic, made of cheese, lock ring might be the actual cassettes themselves which in the year of our lord 2026 still are half singe piece pinned garbage that falls apart and half stamped metal plates with spacers. Seriously, 12 speed shimano stuff is the most disappointing experience I've ever had with a drivetrain. I hate...

Service may have the best margins but it is time limited. You can only do so much work in a day. Mobile cuts down on overheads but driving to clients eats into your billable hours hugely. Also (at least anecdotally) there's an expectation that rates will be lower as you are 'not a proper shop' and getting trade accounts here is much harder if you don't have a bricks and mortar store.

Bigger companies working with proprietary shocks is historically not awesome.

Every product release it’s the same story. We’ve done this we’ve done that, yada yada. Thing is, they are trying to cater to a broad market. New riders and advanced riders all in the same bucket with only 10 clicks to separate them. As bikes change and skills advance more quickly, this assembly line damping process struggles to keep up with the changes. None of the fork companies would ever do this, but wouldn’t it be interesting if they just offered a chassis? You could build the forks tuning from the ground up with whatever tuner you think is best…

I personally would bet that those 3 buttons / lights on Loic's and Finn's bike / suspension are for Mapping specific sections of track (Blue Button) that will therefore record the specific suspension / terrain behavior via the data acquisition and then Jack & Kevin with Ohlins can set specific shock tunes for that section of track via a parallel...

re: canyon (and possibly other big brands)? it's an XC olympic year. could the big dumps and a brand like canyon be for XC talent at the olympic level? i have no insight or idea, but have to imagine olympics are at the forefront of budget talks for brands w/ an xc bike. re: danny - as mentioned above, he has a very solid social and youtube presence. to say he's "kinda invisible" speaks to the way the system works IMO. he's not an over-the-top personality on camera or vlogger with click-baity/controversial subject matter, so he's not recommended by the...

I have said it before, been watching/following DH for well over 25 years. I have no idea where his career will go with wins and championships, but he is by far the most gifted rider I have ever seen. The kid is something special and just fun to watch ride a bike. Nico was like a calculated surgeon, Sam Hill when he came on the scene was amazing and loose, then Gwin a professional in every sense of the word, Stevie had a great run going, Amaury too, Minnaar has always been top of the game. Goldstone just makes it...
