Why should Finn leave Specialized? He has accepted that Bruni is number 1. He won't get more money anywhere, let alone a better bike.

His contract is up so he's shopping to see what his worth is.
Simple.

Finn is a fairly consistant rider who is has podium potential at pretty much any race.. Not a bad idea to see what's out there..

-Loris/Trek has been sour for a while. Loris' 2025 contract likely signed months ago. Not sure there is actually this World Champs clause people are talking about. Reece was likely out of a job or had a small contract offer. Then won worlds, so they coughed up cash to keep him.
-If Finn goes to Norco (possible for a lot of reasons), that would open salary at Specialized--might sign someone like Erice Vanluven (sp) to get a super fast woman in there who will win races next year. Betting on her and Loic to win a lot next year and hope that Jordan starts winning again too.
-Greg really likes Loris (clear from Wyn interview) so could be ending up at Norco... BUT, for the full F1 treatment, I think Loris would like to be on a local team with Max and all the resources, etc.

It will be interesting to see where FMD end up. It's not like just signing a rider, a brand is paying for an entire team (and the apart from Tahnee  their roster has never been strong).
On the other hand for a brand not fully invested yet it is an easier way of getting a 'factory' squad, which is looking more like the only way to get Wc coverage.

#2 on Specialized Gravity seems bigger than #1 anywhere else…

bro I'd wash the truck and make Loic dinner every night if I got a shot on the Factory Specialized team.

It's pretty surreal to see Finn grow up before our eyes into the beast he is today, I remember watching Youtube video's of him on LaPierre and he looked like he would have been 30kg ringing wet, then all the sudden he's winning Crankworx whip off, nekminute he's a grown ass man!

Fuck I'm old.

With some names hitting the free agent market and if YT throws some extra money towards FMD, perhaps they sign a Elite Male rider that has top 10 potential..

#LetFinnIn I remember those days.

It has been really neat to see him become more consistent. I remember he used to have the speed but would crash often. Now he's still got the speed, but has fewer crashes making him a much higher value rider.

FMD picked up Oli Zwar in 2023 from the Union team after he had a few top 10's and a 6th at the World Champs in 2022.

Since then Oli has had a few injuries and hasn't performed to his potential.

If you look at some of these riders, there are a lot of guys that are capable of putting down a heater that can get them into the top 10.. Especially with how close the times are at some of the races..

Any thoughts where Matt Walker could end up ?

Not very often a world cup overall and world cup winner is available , 2nd at the European champs and a good worlds show he's still got the pace and he's still pretty young.

This is an interesting one. When he's in form, he's a potential winner. Continental GT could be a good fit, possibly Atherton (local too) but they're full, FMD maybe (another local team).

Atherons arent full 💺

When teams can have up to 10 riders on their roster no teams are full. Whether teams want to (or are able to) take on additional riders is another matter.

I may be wrong, but I can't think of a team that has the maximum of 4 riders in any one category.

Unless someone else sinks a lot of money into FMD like Canyon did (they were pretty shoestring in the Transition days) then they might struggle to attract top talent.
Atherton seem big but they are mostly self funded and I don't see them selling the volume of bikes to support a big roster. The initial money came from outside investment and the bike park is not a big money spinner (Gee is doing a multi date speaking tour at the moment to pay the bills).
If Bernard is stepping down soon then Pivot need to look towards a replacement and with Enduro going down the toilet then what happens to Eddie and Matt Walker (nz)

Wonder if a trade team could be formed like in travel ball sports.
Each racer has to gather $20k sponsorship "donations" each (team doesn't care if it's all coming from the parents) but that allows them to fund a 10 racer operation for max exposure for a title sponsor or two & to cover the initial economic hurdle.
Team provides the on site operations, camps, etc but team riders fund themselves to/from the races for travel.
Come together with the team coach at camps only & race weekends.

Why couldn’t norco provide the “f1 treatment” looks like they are perfectly willing to stick their necks out there with fast pivoting prototyping and try new designs. They have fast test riders to help, good engineering dept, open with their process, and sponsors on-par with commencal.

Not saying he should or will go to one or the other, but I don’t see how norco couldn’t provide what Loris is looking for in a team.

Its E-EDR going down the toilet now and EDR is resurrected like a phoenix.

That's what I did in my paintball days. Most of the pro and feeder teams were structured that way.

I am a massive fan of Luca but how long do you get to keep a “factory” ride and not win?

Yeah. Isn't that basically how BNC racing works? One person (Mikaela Parton) had the points to qualify an elite team. Then the rest (Brayton and Co.) all chipped in to pay for the team registration fee. And they're all bascally running their own programs. Brayton in a recent podcast seemed to indicate that he thinks the ability to do that was a loophole and it will go away next year.
