The industry can ram headset routing down our throats yet they can't get together enough to have a common seatpost diameter?! I'd love to see survey results for how many want/don't want headset routing.

My guess is "world class family" is synonymous with "single family office". What is a family office you ask? It simply means there is formalized central management of a highly wealthy family that actually employees people (sometimes like me) to help allocate their capital against the backdrop of the family's financial goals, estate planning, tax planning, philanthropic planning etc. To be clear, most family offices start around $100M and go up from there. While there is a lot of variance as to how these family offices operate, they often act in the marketplace similar to a hedge fund or private...

The race team is a separate business entity from the gear business. Troy always retained ownership of the race team from my understanding. My guess is the company that bought equity in the gear business was interested in selling it and Troy had the opportunity to buy it back for a fraction of the price that he originally sold it at. Seems to be a common theme across sporting goods and outdoor brands at the moment if that’s the case.

Yall he is in an advisory role... aka get's to ride all the stuff, tell folks they dumb for XYZ, all while taking home a check. This is what people do once they sell their company. Both Big S and Rob are smart and this makes a ton of sense.

The only company i 100% is Hope. They make really good stuff but mainly they have the best customer service I have experienced from any company ever (not just biking). Not only that but they have the Hope Academy bike scheme for kids as well as actually supporting their products for years to come with spare parts (many companies often...

Brands just need to make what I want, and it needs to work. And being poor if they do it for cheaper that's always a bonus. For parts I wouldn't say I'm too picky but with how Deore performs I'm a fanboy for sure. Would like to try CUES eventually as well. Also love the Float shock's 3 position switch and a cheap Bomber fork. That's the best value build in the industry. Frames wise, I am a Kona fanboy but bow it's getting hard for obvious reasons. If they really do re-release the base 134 that's epic and I...

Being helped and treated right thru warranties is the way to earn my loyalty. The worst feeling in MTB is when your shit breaks. It makes it much more bearable when you know you can go home, send an email to get yourself sorted.

I know we are all supposed to be impressed with the new Stumpy, but man the new Status is a much better looker. Simple and clean. One of the best looking bikes I've seen in a while.

Emtb is chairlift skiing but the lift only brings you halfway up and you have to hike the rest. You can do twice the laps for the same time and very similar effort. It’s fun as f*ck. If you’re just in it for the workout, the regular bike makes way more sense. But if you’re doing it to have fun, the ebike straight up doubles it. The fast guys who do tricks on their regular bikes go downhill just as fast and do the same tricks on their e-bikes. The ebikes cost more though, which makes a lot of people...

Fixed it for you. Also hardly believe that would harm him in any way - that bike is known to come, was already shown last week just in a different material, there is really nothing new or secret at all. Most likely their usual guerilla marketing – show it, make people talk about it, shut it down like "oops".

noticed that the base model 134 comes in with an MSRP of under $2k USD. definitely a budget build, but IMO its good to see that there are proper bikes in that price range for new riders looking at their first bike.
