eddie pedaled and pushed his slopelom bike up, it was never going to be a climbing bike, but it was all he had (along w/ his ebike), so he just sessioned the gravity stages on it. as mentioned, there was no timing or actual competition this week. ebike and regular will be their own categories, not combined.

Will they still have the terrible customer service and poor parts availability that we grew to love back in their first foray? Time will tell!

Yeah but the ohlins market is much smaller and number of units sold way lower. Not really a surprise there

Hot take... Does the average rider want better suspension compared to what he or she has now? Does he or she know it could be better? If yes, are they willing to act upon that knowledge to actually change things? Or do they just want to ride their damn blue bike?

please enlighten me what‘s so hard in discussing those topics in a dedicated thread which i‘m sure will be greatly frequented? damping vs. springrate vs. leverage ratio isn‘t news at all. i (and i guess most) come here for news and rumors about new tech and don‘t want to scroll through pages full of tech talk that isn‘t rumors!

can we please get back to rumors and stop the compression, damping and leverage ratio talk in here. pretty sure there must be a nerding out on suspension thread in here somewhere 😊 THX!!!

Zero Cool Added a comment about press release BOS Suspension Launches BOS Cycling, Introduces 2025 Range

10/14/2024 1:51pm
I think the 35mm Deville fork on my wife’s old Capra was possibly the best fork I’ve ever used, although it was fiddly to set up and needed to be redone every ride or 2. But BOS had some of the worst customer support I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Hopefully they get that part right this time as we eventually sold the fork when it became clear that no one in the UK (or BOS themselves in France) could actually supply spares for it.

Because Specialized handle it so well. Whereas a lot of other brands begrudge warranty and make any claims an absolute ballache. The amount of failures is also directly related for the amount they sell too. Proportionally it’s probably very similar to everyone else.

That is a cost savings measure by the dropper post manufacturers. If 34.9 was the standard on frames , I would expect (though I have been wrong before) seatpost manufacturers to optimize for that size. Cost is the only thing preventing seatpost manufacturers from optimizing for every size now.

But that is starting to change, SDG for example use a thicker stanchion in their 34.9 version. I like the idea of 34.9 for max durability, mainly in carbon and alloy frames on the enduro/DH/long dropper side of things, and a 30.9 for everything else. Steel enduro frame makers can still opt for the 34.9 version if they want, anyway weight isn't much of a consideration for them.
