If I like this does it mean I might be a closet singlespeeder ?

If only someone made a linkage that allowed a longer shock to to be run on the Levo and it yielded 170 mm of travel. That would be wild.

A more durable MaxxTerra sounds great. This 2.4 dhr2 dd casing only has 360 miles and most of that was in colder and wetter winter conditions.

This is an awesome option for people who bought bikes with Zeb R or RC dampers, especially because the kit includes a valving kit for internally tuning the mid and high speed compression. Cool to see! Hope it rides as well as the rear shock.

Hey all, I can finally take off my very sneaky blue tape camouflage to reveal that yes, I’m reviewing the new Nomad. Because I’ve spent so many years on the old Megatower, I’m framing this as a Megatower vs. Nomad comparison. Especially interesting for me because of the rumors that the Megatower is going away and the new Nomad does not take 29” rear wheels. I only have a couple rides in on the new bike, but so far the geometry feels really good and the bike feels solid and stout. Weirdly I haven’t been able to figure out the...

That makes a lot of sense, I appreciate that. I have been doing this so long I forget sometimes, honestly. I guerrilla marketed One Ghost Industries for the better part of 10 years and never got any flack for it. Different times now and I know I am a bit out of touch. I also don't have a lot of free time to spend in the forums, which sucks all the way around. Two jobs and a family with two younger kids each with an autoimmune disease (on top of my own health issues) makes it difficult. I also haven't...

Bring back the OG Rock Razor Super Gravity but in a true 2.4 or 2.5. Or a Slaughter in Grid Gravity. I miss that era of tough, fast rear Gravity tyres!

Looks like Specialized also quietly launched updated ground control and purgatory (renamed now trail control) with lighter casing (quoted weight are for 29x2.35 or 2.4) but still T7 and T9 softer option available and as per specialized habit, price are relatively low: Trail Control Grid Trail T7 930g Trail Control Grid Lite T9 (also available in T7 compound) 860g Ground Control Grid Lite T5/T7 840g Ground Control Flex Lite T5/T7 770g

I bought one of these in 2018 for $6000 AUD ($4275) the spec was ridiculous, fox factory front and back, shimano di2, saint brakes etc with double down tyres it still only weighed 22kg. Sure it was ugly as sin, but chucking a 29 inch front wheel on that bike it was amazing. so 8 years later, we are catching up at triple the cost. ~22kg. The only difference is peak power and 300wH more battery? yes, it was ugly as sin. But the ability to swap a battery in 10 seconds was nice.

For my home trails I don’t agree with this at all. However… I’m on vacation right now and rode at a place yesterday that has a dedicated climbing trail that isn’t technical at all except for one rain rut. Full power was a waste here and I used half the battery per vertical foot climbed that I usually do at...

I’ve heard people mention that the Continental dh tires are only good for a couple laps for the pros before the casing gets too loose. Not sure if that’s true, but I certainly noticed mine was softer after a bit. New tire day always feels the best to me, but that’s probably a head game.

Yes. It would be going on a rigid single speed bike. This is a bit of a Franken-bike project trying to chase an old Unit build that I never should have sold. I’ve attached a photo of that bike below so you all can laugh at me. I am looking at a couple options for the frame but they all are designed around a ~495mm A2C. I’d like to run an Identiti Rebate XL fork (465mm) for peace of mind on the front end. I’m just trying to get 10-15mm more height to maintain geo as much as possible.

There are three guarantees in life: death, taxes, and the internet being absolutely certain that every new e-bike motor release is going to end in disaster. I like to think my view of the world is pretty empirical and observational. So with that in mind, can anyone point me to actual examples of trail closures caused by e-MTBs? We’ve obviously seen issues with SurRons, but my brief Google search and AI-assisted digging turned up basically nothing beyond trails being opened to e-bikes. I cannot find evidence of trail networks being closed to mountain bikes because e-MTB use has meaningfully increased...
