10/18/2025 4:41pm Didn’t he say he used to run the riser crown and spacers under the stem but hit his helmet on it so he opted for the high bar instead? He blames his short arms too. Most of the dh frames out there are pretty low on the stack side so it’s not a setup that would be unique to Mondraker.

I disagree. I don't think after months and months of testing we would have uncovered more about the bikes that would offset the extra time/cost we'd have put in. To be clear, this was not a scientific test. Also, I'm not sure what kinda budget you think we got over here but it does not include months of testing in a bike park. The goal was to put down a timed run on a familiar track after we had each bike setup and feeling comfortable to see how times compared against how we felt on the bikes. And to help...

Loic has made some posts on socials. Short version was that he was in the medic tent for the podium, straight to the hospital and stayed the night. Caught the first flight he could back home and made it in time for the birth of his son. Congrats papa.

Just wanted to chime in, and I know I’ve said this here before, but this is one of the hardest parts of being a privateer. Hard to fly halfway across the world with five spare wheels, let alone have them set up and waiting in the car park with rotors, cassettes, and tires mounted. Being able to confidently obliterate wheels in practice with no consequences is a pretty huge advantage when practice time is so limited. The alternative to spare wheels is running too much tire pressure (which obviously sucks) or riding gingerly (which kind of defeats the whole point).

Thanks for the question. Long story short if the rim is unsafe to ride, it's immediately retired and the hub is re-laced to a new rim. I also have to consider the massive loss of time if I send my rider up on a rim I'm not 100% confident in. Not only do we lose a practice run, but it takes me 40-50 min for one wheel build(including taping and insert/tire mounting). I could easily be halfway through a fresh wheel build in the time it takes my rider to do one practice run so if I have any doubt...

I also agree with both of you. I've seen first hand how many wheels you go through in a race weekend. Having said that, Ronan either needs stronger wheels (you will still put them in the bin after the run) or to tone down the Nathan Rennie vibes. Both MSA and Loudenville were rider error though. MSA he was offline and was to the right of the slot and landed on a square edge. Loudenville he missed the gap and cased mega hard to wreck that one. What was his other race run wheels failure?

10/13/2025 3:02pm I never said wheels aren’t disposable. I said e13 is junk and I said it’s not normal to throw your broken sponsored parts in the trash for any dude to find walking by. Usually it ends up in the race trailer and disposed of a little more discretely or sent back to the supplier if it’s a prototype or whatever...

Yah them doing black bikes with anodized frames again just seems right. I love my raw jedi frame too but if we are going to color anything black is so proper.
