2/26/2026 10:16am That Fluid Focus piston is actually a PUSH piston that we used to sell them as part of our DXH Factory Tuning Kit. I've seen that piston offered by a couple of independent suspension tuners that we used to sell to. Once we stopped offering those types of products, a number of tuners took the parts to local machine shops and had them reverse-engineered because they already had all of the valve codes to go with them.

2/25/2026 7:01pm Had a few hiccups with getting all the parts landed for the Bomber CR builds, but finally have everything in the shop and ready to go. Here's a little preview of three different takes on the same size piston. The differences are quite pronounced, looking forward to comparing performance. Avalanche Suspension uses the stock piston, but may modify port sizes. I'll verify when that shock is pulled apart.

2/21/2026 6:42pm YT Decoy MX with the Shimano ep801 motor. The bike was not changed for many years (other than motor and battery package) so its sizing was pretty old fashioned. Great for my old trails.

2/21/2026 12:02pm My 2 favorite bikes, a 510mm reach dh bike for hauling the mail on bike park tracks that are mostly wide and fast with lots of line choice and a 469mm reach e-bike that's for trying to haul the mail on tight, twisty tech trails where line choice isn't always a thing but quick reactions is definitely a bonus. I'm...

2/21/2026 4:30am Since I've been reading all the comments, I wanted to clarify that there's a world of difference between these two genres of responses that keep popping up in this thread: "Previously I'd never ventured beyond the manufacturer's recommended size for my height, but then I tried sizing up and it's my preferred frame size now". vs. "I've tried many different frame sizes, including bikes that are bigger and smaller than recommended, and I'm pretty confident that I know what my preferred size is. However, I'm stuck choosing between two sizes on a bike I'm looking at, one that I know...

2/19/2026 11:00am Outside of being sponsored? I’ve got nothing. I guess if you like buying the halo build? Performance wise it would have to be able to shift reliably when I was throwing down 800+ watts.

2/19/2026 10:33am I try to size down wherever I can. Steeper seat tube angles have made that difficult. I’m solidly XL in torso and arms but with L sized femurs.

2/18/2026 7:24am Units sold versus units replaced. They’ve sold enough to know the percentages. They’ve tested long enough to know the increases in warranty with the increases in power. Could’ve been the plan all along.

2/17/2026 5:08pm The measured with the same, constant lever force. It is likely that at different lever forces the brakes behave differently compared to each other. So the test results and your real life experiences (where the finger force constantly varies) can both be true. Even more so when you factor in different brake pads, rotors, bleeds, etc.

2/17/2026 5:06pm This makes so much sense. Now I know!!! This whole time I could have been as fast as Gwin if I'd had access to the softer tire compounds.

2/17/2026 6:16am Brian cahal did mention in one of his videos early last year when he was racing the EDRs, moi moi said conti gave them softer compounds. But I'm pretty sure every brand does that, schwalbe is open about it and racers have mentioned testing compounds pre-season, I'd assume the same for maxxis as well with all their test pilot tires (even before the New DH hotpatch). Conti definitely the hardest compound out there, I had two pairs from the first release (Mix of soft + ultrasoft, enduro and DH casing) and it seems like they've only gotten harder compound wise...

2/16/2026 8:53am The newer dh bikes seem to be moving towards 460 chain stays. This idea that short stays leads to more agility doesn’t make much sense to me outside of bmx/dj riding. Being active on the bike and being able to push into it with weight (traction/grip) on both wheels does make sense to me.
