I’m not sure it is. You use the us open as an example for what it should be but that’s also basically one of a few us based brand events for an apparel company that is hugely popular in two sports and has appeal to plenty who don’t ride at all. I get the us open has roots in entry fees paying for prize money but that’s definitely not what got it to over 50 g in prize purses between men and women and all the different events. I don’t disagree the uci could probably better allocate its funds. But...

I really don’t think this is the case at all. Why would bike brands (barely any outside sponsors in mtb) pay for extra winnings for riders they already sponsor and pay bonuses too (and now the competition as well). I’d much rather that money be allocated for local racing and growing the national and regional series of major mtb countries. One it would make the national and regional series a draw for the top guys and two it could really help someone on the cusp of pro extend their season or decrease their outside financial requirements in a pivotal year.

Yes i understand im not at that level myself but am a Passionate fan who can read how fast people are going at the elite level, as can everyone else.

I think it's because Jack (and most of the EWS guys) don't ride oversized bikes like mortal riders who use the long reach to makeup for bad technique. Also, he has it in the 'high' head angle mode which makes the front look funny.

Amanda Batty blocks anyone who disagrees with her in the slightest and bullies other female riders that post anything she considers exploitative. I got blocked for sticking up for another rider she was shaming. She's not interested in discussion. Yep, our sport needs to be inclusive for women and people from more diverse backgrounds. I don't think her approach is helping. Anyways, back to team rumours.
