Two thoughts: 1) If Fox offered this product Slik wouldn’t have to. They're filling a market hole in the market that Fox refuses to. Do you know how much of a pain in the ass it is to get ANY aftermarket replacement decals through Fox for a fork that’s more than a couple years old? Basically impossible. 2) Slik is not competing with Fox. It’s not like they’re making suspension forks and then using the Fox brand name to sell them. They’re supporting existing Fox products. If anything, Slik is giving buyers more reasons to buy Fox forks by knowing...

I don't touch on the 30mm vs 27mm topic but I did just follow my initial Vital review with my own. The rim has lasted since launch till now (almost 3 seasons). IMPRESSIVE. Whatever you pick you are getting something you can have for a long time, so (like the scene in Indiana Jones with the Holy Grail)...chose wisely

That Commencal looks pretty sweet. I'd say don't get sucked in by a carbon frame. Save your money for better suspension and components. They'll take you a lot father than a fancy plastic frame.

I forgot to mention this in my post, but if you’re building your own wheels you might be running to low spoke tension. Rims dont last long if thats the case, or if the spoke tension is uneven. Spoke choice is also very important. You should’nt need to ride «carefully» with a well built set of wheel imo.

There is a saying that applies to most every part on a bike you can buy, "Cheap, Light or Strong, pick two." That said, I personally don't worry about getting the "high end" drivetrain stuff. As far as I can tell, you only lose weight when you go up in price, but you don't gain performance or durability, and similar to you I have broken a number of derailleurs. Rims are a bit of a different story. Generally, as you go up in price, you gain strength and lose weight. I’ve run wheels from Gravity (I think that is what...

I've not really had any problems with any parts of the GX drivetrains and they've taken some serious hits. However I do think a good quality rim is really important. Aluminium differs greatly in strength and other mechanical properties from different types of alloys. Rims should (in my opinion) be one of the last places to save money on. I've...

IDK man. That is an interesting question. Coming from DH and DH-Duro, and having ridden several different bikes and components my honest opinion is the brakes. I feel like I can make most suspension products feel good with some tuning. Tires and inserts make a huge difference but I will sometimes run my tires till they are near balding. All the components make small differences. To me though, if i jump on a bike with Guide Rs, I will ride much more hesitantly compared to my new TRP evos or even my old saints that would have inconsistent lever pull...

I have bought SKF wipers for my fox 40, but I have'nt gottent to test them yet. I believe SKF already makes a bunch of OEM dust wipers for fox, RS and ohlins already. I would'nt replace the ones you have with another unless its worn and you have to replace them anyways. The biggest difference I've felt is using...

No, the third spring concept makes it even more linear than before. You effectively start with a low pressure, small volume air spring that is very sensitive but starts ramping up quickly (a typical air spring starts of firm but tapers off/reduces rate around 1/3rd stroke). Once that first chamber reaches the pressure of the second chamber, you start compressing both so its magically turned in to a large volume fork and you can reach the end of the stroke You also don't need to reach full travel as often as possible, there is no good reason to do that...

I rode the owner of suspension syndicates bike with the runt on it and I must say wow. Well done. I would reccomend it to anyone that is looking to get more out of their fork. However I would definitely not recommend trying one if you dont have the money to buy one. You will want one. Lol. Any chance you will be making one for the 40 or boxxer?
