Not sure, I don't bother weighing bikes nowadays - my focus is on performance and durability. To be honest, I did try and weigh it yesterday, but it's been so long since I used the scales the batteries are flat! I'd guess around 36-7 lbs

What an amazing read. The product knowledge and each decision made or thought and why’s that went into each component for this rig is just mind-blowing. Also, I don’t know if anyone else noticed the rubber inserts to dampen vibration between the stem and the upper crown?! DETAILS!

I disagree with your opinion there, thats like saying that randonee skis should be designes with climbing being the priority because you're going up the mountain 99,9% of the total time spent skiing. Your percentage of time spent going up/down doesn't really hold water as some of us live near a lift. If you ride four times a week; two...

Yes, steep seat tube angles are great for seated climbing, but you arent always seated going up. My point was that a longer rear center would benefit the weight distribution of the bike when going down.

I think that geometry still has room for improvement when it comes to the front-/ rear center ratio, especially when it comes to bikes in larger sizes. Having a long front end and a short chainstay forces you to really weight your front wheel when cornering which sometimes feel unnatural In my opinion. I'm mainly thinking about dh bikes, but...

How do you keep from nuking the exo tires? You could run DH casings and still have a really light bike, trust me they are worth the weight. Light tires are nonsense on anything but an xc bike, or I guess if your trails are perfectly smooth exo is fine, but the performance advantages of heavier casings are immense.

As an onyx hub owner i understand that blessing and curse of a silent hub. Always hunting down creaks and rattles. These are intriguing.

I would be really interested to see a test comparing the drag on these hubs compared to the Onyx. Also it should be noted that the Onyx Vesper hub has a claimed weight of 389g which would make the Box is about 22% heavier. Another thing I wanted to point out is about the "sponginess" that you talked about. Many, myself included, see this as more of a feature than a fault. I really like the soft initial feel of the hub. It makes other hubs feel a bit harsh or clunky by comparison now. If that makes sense. If...

I know Trek is one of the largest bike brands in the world. But can I just say, as someone who has been mountain biking since 1995, I have never once been "wow'd" by a single Trek design. They are like the vanilla ice cream of the bike world. And my lack of excitement for them always gets increased with all the proprietary crap.

BTW, a message to the mods (if it's possible), drop the 2020 from the thread name and keep this thread rolling through eternity? We are well into MY2021 rumors, and it's just a PITA to run two threads, when to define the switchover point, etc. Why not just merge things? Smile

Make sure your spring in between the pads is nice and stretched out really pushing those pads out and I have had people but the soft side of some velcro tape on the caliper right below the fins. Hope those tips help!
