I've just realised that you can't easily see just how small this bike is in these pictures. Believe me, it's TINY!

I have this fork with coil spring although I've never tried the air version. First impressions were absolutely amazing. The initial breakaway resistance is incredibly low - they are ultra plush like you'd expect. They also ride surprisingly high, as indicated in the review. It's not all roses though. When they bottom out, it's a harsh clang and I do sometimes wish it had some kind of ramp up. The more I ride them, the more compression damping I run. The damper is able to run any amount of LSC without feeling choked, but if you run the HSC in...

devin-m Liked a product review Performance higher than the price tag

When it came time to squeeze a bit more out of my current bike (Santa Cruz Nomad) I knew I wanted to change the stock Rock Shock Super Deluxe air shock for a coil shock. I wanted better downhill performance on a budget. I bought the shock, found a spring rate Fox / Marzocchi recommended and tossed the shock on my bike. Right away the shock felt smooth and supple out of the box. With only low speed compression and rebound it didn’t take me more than a couple rides to settle on some settings and be happy with the...

Too bad Specialized, yet again, can’t be bothered to make one for us tall people.

Yeah reluctantly agree. About once every 3 years or so I get tempted into trying something else, and I sometimes find something that is maybe even 80% as good, and you think "yeah these are thoroughly not bad". But then I go back to Maxxis/Schwalbe and I'm like "mmmm yeah still the best". Shout out to Continental who have consistently made utterly terrible, plastic coumpond tyres that should come with a health/career warning.

TEAMROBOT Liked a comment about Feature MTB Tire Test: Michelin Wild Enduro vs. e*thirteen LG1r EN MoPo

The difference is that the Nevegal was popular with SLOW people (editors, MBA readers, your dad, etc) and was never popular with pros (see: sharpie sales in 2007), whereas the DHF was and still is popular with pros. Also, I didn't say the DHF, I said Maxxis. Maxxis makes other tires than the DHF, many of which are great, but (other than Schwalbe) no other brand can put together a good tread, compound, and casing. My point is there aren't a lot of other good options. DHF, DHR, Assegai- these are the only tires I would ever buy at MSRP.

I don't understand why you would buy anything other than Maxxis or Schwalbe. 10 years later and still no one else can match these two brands. Maybe the new Michelin DH tires will work, but why wonder? I don't ride enough to want to potentially waste rides seeing if other tires work.

Manufacturers said boost optimsed front gear is necessary, but the difference is just 3mm. Titan has longer chainstay, it mean the effect of chainline is less than other bikes and can get enough clearance between chainstay and chainring. ...But finally, I choose M980 because of the good design.

The 980 /985 is the best Shimano crank ever (fight me). 104bcd, normal tension and pinch bolt fitting, and with the 3x version space for a bashring...

2 generations-old cranks - presumably because you're a fellow believer that 104 BCD and 50mm chainline is better than modern so-called standards. I been bangin on about this for ages

Tristan_Mayor Added a comment about press release Nukeproof Introduces Limited Edition Reactor 290c ST

It isn't average, that's my point - it should be though, for all mtbs. So when bikes are under 65 they can be described as 'slack', and equally when bikes are over 65 they can be described as 'steep'. I'm not entirely saying steep bikes are inherrantly wrong (ok, I kinda am), but they are that - steep

65° should be seen as 'about average' for any mtb in 2020. You wait, in 2022 the Reactor Mk2 will have this 'revolutionary' new geometry. Face, palm... I've actually got a Vitus Mythique and it's great now I fitted a Superstar -2° angle set. At least you used a 44/56mm head tube, so it's a simple fit
