I think you and I have already had this exact same conversation, but okay let's review my points again: 1. Lab tests ≠ absolute truth. Not all tests are created equal. People in these forums have repeatedly made the claim that radial tires roll slower than bias ply tires, but the tests they've shared to back up these claims ( example from Schwalbe's lab here) were performed on steel drums in a laboratory. Steel drums have been resoundingly proven to not be a reliable proxy for even smooth asphalt, let alone rough asphalt, gravel, or real world trail conditions. If...

I want max grip for riding off camber flat out. Schwalbe Radials are next level for natural terrain. If you want support and durability then stick to regular tyres.

Let’s not forget that one of the main benefits of radials is that you are able to ride with much more durable casing while getting the compliance of a lighter tire. might have to run higher pressure, but at the end of the day you get more durability while preserving feel and traction.

if you regularly found this shoe for $50, I think we have the answer as to why they're not making them anymore.

MoldyMTB Liked a forum topic Some thoughts on the Oneup Wave pedals (review)

8/7/2026 10:37pm
TLDR - I have been riding these pedals since the start of summer. They are my new favorite pedals, dethroning my previous favorite the Deity Deftrap. Imo the "wave" concept seems like a gimmick and doesnt seem to work the way they intended, I didnt notice my heels dropping unless I did it on purpose. Instead, the wave design achieves something else; it provides great grip that I can rely on while pounding through rough chunky terrain, but still allows me to re-adjust foot position on the fly - something i struggled with on my Deftraps. I have had no...

Avinox is far from a monopoly. Looking just at MGUs, I wouldn't underestimate players like Gobao. And, more broadly speaking, I wouldn't count out TQ or Bosch just yet. But SRAM and Shimano have had a duopoly in the drivetrain market for ages, so maybe it's about time some others get some market share too. While I like both companies, I'm certainly not looking at the current landscape and saying "I hope this doesn't mean I'll be able to choose something other than SRAM or Shimano in the future." Smile

Nice! This is great info. I'm surprised, but encouraged to see it. I certainly hope SRAM and Shimano are both able to roll out new motors and compete with Avinox. Monopolies are bad.

What a bummer. We'll see what happens when Vail Resorts inevitably goes bankrupt and/or has to start offloading properties in the next 2-3 years.

I’d give that 0%. They would have to throw a lot of cash that they don’t have to lure him to a team with no established infrastructure and would be a wildcard team.

Always look at rider weight when looking at tire pressure. Nino Schurter weighs 150 lbs. he can get away with 17psi. I weigh 200. I cannot get away with 17psi.

Idk whats going on in this forum lately. Amaury: I'm using radials. Schwalbe: our riders are all using radials. Us: no one's using radials. My personal experience, riding them in every condition imaginable, including snow: the biggest improvement in mountain bike technology since we figured out 64 degree HTA could apply to non DH bikes.

Screw the cap out, screw that little thingie out and in, screw the cap in. fingers get a bit dirty with the sealant in the process. Its not much, but it just feels nicer and a tiny bit faster with cliks really

I picked up the Fox Ranger Wind Jacket this winter and has fit my needs perfectly. Where I usually ride we start at the top and ride down, so on chilly 30-50 degree starts it is nice to have the wind protection and a little warmth. When I get to the bottom I stuff it into my in frame storage...

"Nobody lifts a finger." is a bit of an overstatement. Plenty of people who were there did what they could, which wasn't much since they had other jobs to do and he wasn't gushing blood. They told him it sit down and called the ambulance. He kept standing and waited. Were they supposed to shut down practice and kiss it and make it better? He didn't seem to have any complaints about how it was handled.

I've got a bit of time on the Butcher and Eliminator on my Enduro bike and they're legit. I'm coming off of Conti Kryptos and they definitely feel more grippy, I immediately felt the difference in the radial casing as soon as I had them on, the Conti's felt almost wooden in comparison. I was concerned about the Eliminator out back being it's more of a trail bike tire but they're seriously impressive, testing them out with some hard stops on flatter loose / dusty trails I had expected them to slip and drift like my Kryptos but they just...

I think they look goofy and would rather split the rise between steerer tube spacers and bar height but that's just me.

RoJo1 Liked a forum topic Magic Mary Radial vs Assegai: 15 Timed Runs

6/24/2026 2:38pm
I think this has made my front tyre choice for bike park season pretty easy. I finally tested the Magic Mary Radial Gravity Ultra Soft against the Assegai DoubleDown MaxxGrip. The Mary was much smoother in the rough, had huge braking confidence, and came out 2.86 seconds quicker in my 15-run comparison. What surprised me most is that I do not think it gives anything away in rolling speed either. It was already edging ahead on the smoother, flatter opening section before grip really became a factor. It is going straight onto my DH bike for the season. I just...
