The PUSH Industries Nine. One Specifications 150mm-170mm travel (10mm steps), 36mm stanchions, bushing overlap 145mm, coil sprung, 15mm floating axle, pneumatic bottom out control, weight 2960g, Chassis The 9.1 crown is large with massive overlap on the 44.5mm aluminum upper legs which are bonded in. Specialized developed a fully bonded alloy crown/stanchion system for the E160 fork around 2010 while I was a member of the engineering group. It is a great alternative to the traditional press fit assembly method for a fork CSU, and in some ways superior. The moto inspiration for the 9.1 design is apparent, the fork lugs...

I am not upset about the weight and nowhere was I complaining. I simply stated what I built and the weight. It’s about 2 lbs heavier than the carbon frames, that’s what the conversation topic was about.

I wasn’t raininv that hard to make a big difference. Most people at the finish area weee still hanging out in tshirts and shorts. A camera went down. Imagine the outrage if they went ahead and didn’t broadcast the last 5 riders.

I'll say it again, the top eight junior women would have qualified for elite women's finals in Val di Sole. All the junior women that have been interviewed are upset they weren't given the option to choose their line and wanted to hit the road gap. Why do we believe that junior men are capable of making their own choices, but junior women aren't?

"2. Closing a feature to a single group of contestants alone is wrong. Build a course that is rideable for everyone! Also junior woman." Can't get behind this take. The difference in ability between elite men and junior women is massive. They should instead make a more interesting B-line than just a wooden ramp to the side, should make it more enjoyable for the riders.

Your assessment of GX/SLX being more than adequate is spot on.. My primary bike uses GX..I will admit to being a bit of a suspension snob, but the Select or Performance level isn't terrible. I'm talking about SX or NX parts on carbon frames.. I would throw Deore in that mix, but at least that actually works pretty well. I personally feel that if you are on a budget that you are better off with an aluminum frame and a nice built kit than a carbon frame with lower spec parts.. I think the nicer parts will be noticed more...

UCI just announced in the Rider Communications that the road gap is closed for the Junior women in DH this weekend, B-line only. Its open for Elite M and W and junior men. i thought this was 2025? Why not let the girls decide for them selves whether they want to take the B-line or not.

I'm sure I'll get hate for this, but I'm not sure a dh race is the place to bring your dog. I've had enough issues with trail dogs (I feel pretty strongly that most dogs shouldn't come along for the ride and aren't as great on the trail as their owners say they are) and not sure massive crowds full of yelling, screaming people is the place to bring your dog.

Stiffness is just displacement under a given load. Steel and aluminum will have different material damping and rebound properties even when their stiffness is identical. I’m imagining the legs of an inverted fork can be thought of like a tuning fork, and axle material will change how that tuning fork sounds.

Just to follow up on a few things... As a summary, we don't know if Fox gave special attention to these forks, where they came from or how representative they are of the actual production sample. For a lot of reasons, my intuition is "these are right off the normal production line with no special attention during assembly". Again, this is based off my time as a media guy, internal product tester, timing of the actual release, and tech/finance consultant for various outdoor industry companies over the last 15 years. I very well could be wrong. I have zero hard...

I think the truth is most likely boring but somewhere between "review forks are rebuilt by Jordi himself adding a pinch of magic" and they just get pulled out of the full normal production line. It's very likely that review units AT INITIAL LAUNCH were not built on the full on assembly line like forks will be after release. This is just logistic of getting early units to reviewers. I work in product development (not bikes) and there is 100% chance that switching from producing a handful of testing / review models to full scale production quantities will uncover an...

In the interview it was noted that they did back to back runs with Alu and Steel axles and the riders all chose the steel axle for it's ride quality over the Alu axle, but they were rated same strength. As much as I like a good conspiracy theory the intention of the project was to build the fork with...

no one is denying that the product that goes to press camps isn't dressed up for the best experience. they're just stock products, however. there's nothing special about them aside from prep, so a "camp" product feeling amazing is certainly within the capabilities of every customer fork, right? if i bought at $2000 fork and it didn't feel amazing, i'd sure be asking fox or the dealers why and would get them to make it feel that way or give me my money back.

Rulesman Hambini Diaz [I’ve redacted my comment about Dale Stone because I’ve seen two of his videos and that’s not enough to draw an informed conclusion] These are all content creators who seemingly never have anything nice to say about the big companies. According to them, everything’s terrible all the time and they’re the only ones calling it out, the voice crying out in the wilderness. I agree that the big companies do things that suck and that drive me crazy, but if you can’t ever say anything nice about the bigs, even when they notch a win? I have...
