I've done some more extensive photo enhancement on that photo Jesse posted, and there's absolutely no argument as to where he's going. This is 120% concrete, congrats on the new ride Jesse!!!

That is some next-level "enhance" sh*t right there! (Unless he's trolling which is totally possible because that seems just a little too perfect...)

all - cut the petty ebike/non-ebike bullshit in here. battle all you want in a diff thread. if it's not a legit discussion about the bikes or the tech, beat it to somewhere else.

It's been mentioned before, but anyone who's goes to spesh in recent memory for the most part suffers on the Enduro side of things. Like since 2015 I don't think there's barely been a specialized athlete who's been top 10 at an event on the inside of a specialized contract and then back to doing ok after if they physically didn't crash out for the rest of their career. For a company who owns the Enduro name, it's pretty brutal. If they couldn't win with graves, I'd be interested if they can win at all. Hey specialized, prove me wrong.

The new BMC Fourstroke caught my eye almost instantly after reading the PB article on it. No Im not gonna buy one, but it looks awfully similar to the bike Cecile Ravanel was riding while coaching PFP this year. It got me thinking, what if BMC hired Commencal to help with the development of the bike, or the other way around.

One odd thing with the Oso... 155mm of travel with a 60mm stroke shock and 170mm of travel with a 65mm stroke shock would mean that last 5mm of shock stroke has an average leverage ratio of 3. Having a leverage ratio around 3 for the last little bit of travel while the average leverage ratio for the first 60mm of shock stroke is 2.58 would be very weird. So it likely has more than 155mm with a 60mm stroke or less than 170mm with a 65mm stroke. Or the leverage curve is shaped like a U, but I think...

Might aswell buy aluminium wheels at that point with those weights And please don't talk about lifetime warranty, a good dtswiss rim is around 70 bucks, Even if you manage to wreck 5 rims in few years which is unlikely you are still on a better position in terms of pricing

Regarding the XC alloy bikes of yesteryear, we could take a peak a bit back in history. How light and safe to ride can you make a Cannondale Super V? What a about a Raven? What about a first generation Scalpel in CAAD guise? A Klein Adept? A Klein Palomino? And I am sure the list doesn't end just here. Writing all this, I am looking on my closet at a late generation Attitude Team, with a leftover frame that was still made in Chehalis, Washington, before Trek took over. It has an integrated headset and a pressfit BB and...

How many of the ultra light bikes back in the day had 29er wheels? Disc brakes? How many of them lasted half a season or a full season? And yeah, you can make a flex stay, there are a few out there (Scott being one of them and over in the tech rumors a few were mentioned fairly recently as well). It's still far from optimal though. You can do a lot with correct design (minimise the amount of flexing for example), but you give the frame an expiration date even more so than with just general riding (all aluminium...
