7/7/2021 1:55am I know that the Gamux bike is posted because of the dorado and gearbox but when will Pinion give us trigger shifters? Instinctiv bikes made some but aren't selling them aftermarket

6/30/2021 7:58am A threaded BB can be installed by a monkey and not creak as long as they thread the cups in straight.

6/30/2021 7:55am These HP designs are cool and great for pro riders with pro mechanics to perform bike surgery every week, but the sheer number of pivots and crevasses on some of these bikes should warrant trepidation for the rest of us. If people complain about pressfit BBs creaking, just wait until you hear the cacophony of death cries (think Mayan death whistle) coming from deep within the shock tunnel, linkages, pivots, idler wheel, tweaked chainlines, or internal cable labyrinths. I get the HP appeal, but there are always trade-offs that come with adding complexity to a system and we've been down...

6/26/2021 4:34am FWIW, carbon for mountain bikes (except XC maybe) is the biggest mistake ever. Bikes are not a simple product to make out of composites (complex shapes and details, bearing mounts, two parts to the rear triangle, etc.), carbon or any composite is not a simple material to work with as it's not isotropic, the industry can't afford to do proper engineering on the product, as the numbers, price and lifecycles of the final products are not at a level that would make composites a worthwhile choice of material, etc. I am speaking out of my butt here, haven't thrown around...

6/26/2021 4:33am I think the new Range is a great looking bike and it sounds like it performs well too from the early reviews. The prices are a bit unexpected and the weight does seem at least 2lbs heavier than it should be. But I guess the ability to change the dropouts and link and thrown on the dual crown for a WC ready DH bike is pretty nifty! I hope more companies look at this as a possible solution to the dropping sales of DH bikes. It would suck (imo) if all the race bikes end up becoming one off prototypes...

5/25/2021 2:09pm It's my own 3D printed prototype frame. It's a dual link gearbox bike. It's currently got an incomplete rear triangle to make mounting the belt easier. If you remember I surveyed you guys about making a frame awhile ago and some of you wanted updates. I'll send some more photos when I start making the CNC'd version.

5/25/2021 2:08pm Also, isn't this thing missing a pivot? These are pretty thick to be flex stays... Unless there's a small link just behind the gearbox (à la DW-Link/Sine), but then why wouldn't you make a full rear triangle?

5/18/2021 4:57am I like that not only the factory riders get the prototype frames (maybe also near production, i dont care). Commencal does an acelent job here.
