7/17/2026 12:17pm I'm in the same boat... I have a Trance that I want to rebuild at some point and replacing the 34 with a 130mm 36SL is on the list of things I want to upgrade being a not so light rider...

7/17/2026 10:41am I’m a heavily bias Norco fan over here. They just don’t build light bikes. When they did, they broke. Saying that… I definitely prefer a chonky bike as I have a chonky presence. I haven’t ridden a newer Pike, but a chassis from a few years ago felt like a wet noodle under me. The smallest chassis I feel comfortable...

7/17/2026 10:36am The new fluid looks like a great bike, just like the last one, but man 35#’s for a 130mm bike is chonky. I know from personally owning aluminum norcos they are not lightweights, but that new lyrik is pretty heavy too. Do we really need a lyrik on a 140mm forked bike? Pike chassis seems totally suitable for this situation.

7/14/2026 7:33pm It's a shame there is no way to adjust the height of your handlebars. If you bike's stack is 10mm lower than you'd like you just have to put up with it.It's really unfortunate.

7/14/2026 7:33pm Recovered my stolen 1-up rack because of one. Dude had his van stolen with his bikes in it. His bikes had AirTags (in the steerer tube? forgot) and he was able to get his van, bikes, my rack + two other stolen 1-Ups and a van full of stolen power tools. The tools weren't his, but the cops said they were now. Inside of the van was torn up and smelled like a methlab…

7/14/2026 11:58am Got it. I’ve never dabbled with AirTags or anything like that. With the cover, that’s pretty clever integration. Until it gets hit with a rock or something…

7/14/2026 11:49am Carbon is conductive, and hence a pretty good shield for RF. Placing an Airtag inside of a Carbon or metal frame would degrade signal strength pretty severely.

7/14/2026 11:21am Certified armchair engineer here… Wouldn’t you want something like this hidden inside the frame, or somewhere less obvious?

7/14/2026 11:19am It's actually 127mm in XL? https://yeticycles.com/en-us/bikes/lt/geometry As an XL rider, this geometry actually looks pretty amazing, just need some spacers and a riser bar. Also the alternative color way is a looker:

7/13/2026 12:43pm Shop I work at invested in all the facing tools for Hammerschmidt. Like, a big investment. Then it didn’t sell…

7/13/2026 12:41pm Congratulations, you invented Hammerschmidt. In my opinion, and I've already talked about this, something like a Classified hub could be potentially viable for mtb use, but coupled with a 6 speed wide range cassette. Think skipping every second gear we have currently and having around 40 % jumps between gears. The gap in between those is handled by the internal hub. Obviously the derailleur would have to be electric then and the buttons on the handlebars would control both the derailleur and the internal hub as the latter would shift every time with the derailleur shifting only every other gear...

7/12/2026 9:45pm I’ll never forget the time I was course marshaling an event with a huge SRAM presence. Title sponsor of the race actually. They had just rolled out 2X drivetrains. A very fast sponsored racer had a massive front ring chainsuck right in front of me… I was like “nope. Not buying it.” 🤣
