I think Shimano is missing the point- noise is the biggest issue by far. If my bike is loud, it's bad. I don't care if the suspension is actually working 1% better.

Once Jackson's sister showed up and surprised him in the pits, after that heartfelt hug, it was pretty much over for all the other senior men's racers. I think she deserves a cut of his winnings, just like his mechanic.

I may be mistaken but it looks to me like there may be an off menu item for those who wanted the MT to have all the adjustments of the LT. If you put a 160 fork on the LT and shortened the shock stroke to 60 or 62.5 instead of 65, you could get approximately the the same geo as the MT with the rear travel reduced to right around 150, you could even go 57.5 stroke and get really close to 140 rear travel. The seat angle would be around half a degree steeper, head angle would be...

I challenge anyone that believes they do more braking with the front than with the rear to mount some brake ace data acquisition and prove it

What do you mean amplify. Weight transfer gives you more grip. It only makes sense to have more braking power (i.e. bigger rotor) in the front. QED: literally every car on the road. If it has a rear weight bias (Porsche for example) or a near 50 50 split, the difference front to rear is smaller, but still present.

I asked Gemini to adjust the image to not alter anything about it, just to make what seems to be there, a little more visible. Hate me if you want.

More likely that he's running the air and damper legs reversed for whatever reason, so the damper is on the right rather than on the left like most stock Ohlins forks. He's run the air and damper legs in the same reversed arrangement pretty much from the beginning, long before they started testing the electronic damper. That interface would be for the servo motor to connect to the damper much like on RS flight attendant. Here's a screenshot from Vital video from 2024: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XYzOFN2M4Y

Looks like whatever is going on, they’ve now removed it while the bike is on display. Honestly not 100% sure what I’m looking at with it removed. Possible just an adaptor to fit it to the stanchions, as well as drop it lower into the stanchion to accommodate the dual crown? The “air” cap on the damper side is likely just a cover for the electronic damper?

Part of being a top racer is being able to tolerate the harshness that comes with a World Cup track. I could see why someone on flats at that level would prefer to have their weight driven into their pedals instead of floating away from them.

Saw the pack of them up there yesterday too — could be a sign. But the new LT has long chainstays, and I don't think they'd landed on that geo yet when they made the mold for the DH bike. The current proto has a rear pivot, so no adjustable CS either. I've got 7 days on my V10 now, and the long chainstay (460) with a 475 reach is clearly the best. If they launch the DH bike with a stubby CS (like Pivot), it'd be a real letdown.
