I reaaaally like the idea behind this bike. I had a supreme and I thought the ride quality to be quite something. The rear end feels like butter when in fact it is sharp, pointy rocks. The chainstay growth I found to be a little difficult to get to grips with after years learning on a hardtail then mostly 32t chainring pivots, it tricks you inta thinking a manuals on but as the front end comes up and the shock squishes the back wheel pisses off somewhere behind you and you look lame(r than usual). I also think the lighter frame and, potentially wheels, allow them to have heavier parts in other areas and stay at a weight they want. Who knows, they may also be fucking with us.

I don't know about most bikers, but I like cranks that are efficient in pedaling. The video didn't show either rider pedaling until the 1:14 mark. In fact, they showed Olly pushing his bike before anyone actually pedal. But man, can Brendog and Olly fly....

That's interesting. The thing is though, the front wheel turns on an arc as the bars turn and the rear doesn't follow the same path. Also the rear steps out and tends to drift more than the front. Perhaps the fact that the rear wheel is spinning faster and cuts a tighter line would be noticeable on pavement but I can't feel anything unusual happening.

They admitted that the small wheel was a fudge because they got a dimension wrong when it went to manufacturer. Think it was recent a podcast.

Not exactly science (I’m really stupid) but when tipped over the smaller wheel will (in theory) turn with a tighter arc than the larger one. Though I haven’t read anything from anyone who’s yet to have felt any affect from this whether negative or positive. I’d imagine this isn’t a good thing...in theory. Other than that I don’t think there’s...

...and Hill and Meas dominated on 27.5. Personally, I believe tire size has more to do with the person who rides its height and their bike skill than rotation or floating holes or if it carries speed better

It seems unlikely that there is much of an advantage over going full 29er for racing. Personally I'm considering running the mismatched wheels on an enduro bike, but more for practical reasons: use a high end 29er wheel for longer rides and racing, but a lower end 27.5 wheel and DH tyre for shuttles and bike park. DH tyres and strong wheels have a pretty high weight penalty in 29.

I trust whatever Neko says implicitly. And he’s already told me and the rest of instaland “meh”. In all seriousnous I don’t think it’s gonna stick around for long, maybe not even long enough to score a win and even if somebody does get a win it won’t be cus they’ve found the new magic formula of wheel sizes.

Interesting. My only small grumble is that a tyre does have its own damping - from the rubber. Rubber dampens both the carcass and through the tread itself. Different compounds and treads make easily noticeable differences in tyre dampening

absolutely agree. Very bouncy tires will benefit more (Maxxs exo, Sch snakeskin, Continental Der K/Der .. but when you change from one of these to DD/DH or Sch SG there is a world or improvement in damping/traction from the tire alone... Not saying that cushcore wouldn't be better, dont know, curious, havent tried it yet..

I actually run DH casings on the front purely for the damped feel. For me it’s a bit like a slacker head angle, I find it confidence inspiring being able to point the front wheel at nasty lines and know it won’t bounce off. It was a a huge thing for me the first time I rode super damped tyres and I’ll never go back. But still haven’t tried cushcore...tbh the added hassle and cost don’t seem worth it but I guess until I try I can’t talk smack.

Absolutely, if you don’t mind and would rather hand over cash and trust somebody else more than yourself to check a bike over then have at it. I do mind, that’s all I was saying. I agree it’s a decent business idea but that’s a long ways from me thinking it’s a good service for myself and the people they aim to serve. I buy an sell bikes often purely because spending money isn’t part of the sport for me. There isn’t a lot of money in it and nor should there be. Which means these guys must be buying...

Just sounds like a car dealer ship with slightly better marketing. I’m perfectly capable of selling my own cars and bikes thank you. And I’ll do better out of it both financially and from a service point of view. If I want to get shafted I’d at least by an actual new bike.
