They were one of the very first to have a small sized seat tube on a medium frame and also one of the first to do steeper seat angles. They’ve had their geometry dialled since before being a geometry geek was even a thing. But a 16.5” seat tube and a ~470mm (current large) reach? Like Ralph Fiennes said - “that’s going over board mate”

Seems a bit odd. Sams been running the medium 435mm reach bike since forever. If he wanted more reach I’m fairly Sure he could have just run the large...? In any case if they increased the reach by 50mm on all sizes then it’s now a massive bike and the small would now be almost as long as the old large!? I don’t really wanna open a can of worms about sizing preferences but as a small-medium rider and a lover of the Mega this is bad news as the bikes are now too big for me thats if...

A lot of riders have been over shocking their 290s and I’ve seen a few rawed too. It’s like they were in the Nukeproof owners forum and said “hey that’s a great idea for Sam” lol. Be interested to see just what they’ve done to the geo and linkage. Guess we have to wait until autumn.

That’s because they don’t have a choice. When the manufacturers don’t make any other options, that’s what everyone is stuck with.

I think the part that sucks is paying $600-1000 more for a carbon frame with no benefit. If you add up carbon handlebars, wheels, and cranks, too, you’re at about $2500-3000 extra for no benefit. And when I say “no benefit,” I mean to say World Cup guys are the biggest tweakers out there, and Loic would not be riding aluminum if he thought it was slower.

Without the sport would die??? That‘s bullshit Red Bull came when Downhill was big on Freecaster, Red Bull pays more money, that‘s all. With a lot of bad decisions in the past! Limited Content, one hour brake after the woman’s finals...no Red Bull isn‘t what the sport need. They‘re bring a lot good things of course, but not just good

The 27.5 isn't truly halfway between 26 and 29, it's actually closer to 27". It was used because it was an existing French touring bike standard, not a truly new size. What we're seeing is that on DH bikes with lots of travel, the 29 rear is cumbersome. Also, even on shorter travel bikes, the longer chainstay of the 29" bikes is throwing off front/rear balance on smaller size frames. Riders who are smaller and/or move around a lot on the bike may find the 29"rear wheel limiting.

Is literally everyone having their grips made in the same factory? What’s minimum order? Want some pro Iqbals that have are the same as everyone else’s but just have a single longitudinal line one em so I feel symmetry. Iqbal Sym grip. I’d buy em. Big up one up though.
