In the past 25 years being in the suspension game I've seen thousands of different designs. It's not really regurgitated ideas, but it's also not leaps and bounds in technology either. The best thing when it comes to shock designs is to have a solid design, without gimmicky adjustments, excellent quality internals, and he essential adjustments that are designed around today's leverage curves.

Mongo, Dunc, Maddog, Joe: Thanks a million for offering up the very best coverage of the best season of racing I can remember. Fans of other sports wish they had media boys like you guys. Also, thanks to Spomer and the VitalMTB crew for throwing it up here for all of us, free of charge! What a track to finish it all off, and WHAT A RACE on that track... Wow. Roll on, Hafjell!

by Nick Ducharme Single chainring drive trains are becoming increasingly popular on the trail. With 11-speed upgrades still expensive, and the lack of proper wide-range 10-speed cassettes on the market, several manufacturers have jumped onboard the oversized replacement cassette cog bandwagon. These larger cogs take up the cassette real estate that one of your smaller cogs would usually occupy and installing one means you are typically forced to choose if you love your 15 or 17 tooth cog more. OneUp is cool enough to include a 16 tooth cassette cog with your 40/42t up-sized ring which bridges this shifting gap...

Hey Fox or any lurking experts: are high-speed rebound and low-speed rebound really speed-sensitive, or is this terminology just used as an analogy with HSC and LSC, which the public presumably understands or feels comfortable with? I'm having trouble picturing a graph of rebound shaft speed vs spring force. When the shock is bottomed, spring force is maximum, but in that moment of transition between compression and rebound, shaft speed is zero. Then it will rebound very fast in the absence of damping. After a small hit, less spring force is released. But if you have heavy damping, then shaft...
