Added a comment about video Loic Bruni Interviews Brendan Fairclough - Outspoken Episode 7 8/14/2019 4:23 PM

I've lived in Belgium, where the longest downhill is about 45 seconds of flat-ish trails, with very few trails to choose from, and I've lived in Queenstown where I got to ride the bike park every single day for 8 months of the year (+ amazing trail riding the other 4 months). I'm convinced that areas with limited riding breed better riders, since you're bound to end up riding the same (sections of) trails over and over and over again, and it's much easier to improve than if you were riding 10 different trails in one day. It's the age old "practice makes perfect" v.s. "perfect practice makes perfect" dilemma.
I think the whole "sessioning 1 corner for hours on end" culture that is so prominent in the UK is why they have such talented riders

I have no idea how Brendan, Josh, Bernard, Danny, etc, etc can learn all their skills in the woods of England. He was talking about accessibility of the sport, but nobody does more than those guys by showing how just messing about in the woods can lead to...more

My cousins & their dad (my great uncle) have worked for NASCAR & their race teams for decades. 1 cousin got his feet wet being the "tire ferry". They handed him the hot used tires across the wall & he had to stab the tire with a puncturing thermometer to check the internal...more

No worries. You can't be perfect all the time. Early mornings play Trickstuff on my old eyes as well.

There's pictures of the BB part of their frame on the Pinkbike press release which might help you make a guess..

If you look at the bikes they've been on over the years, it's pretty much always been some slight variation of a single pivot (Commencal, GT Fury, Trek Session getting rid of the Full Floater setup,...), so I wouldn't be too surprised if they came up with a similar thing. If it ain't broke...

They got fired. Rachel didn't show up to a regional event she was co-hosting with Hope, they then later found out she skipped out to go riding with her brothers so Hope terminated them.

He just replied to me. He had to BUY THAT CANYON SENDER!!!
AND....he has been riding Fox all season and it's got Rock Shox suspension. He had exactly 2 days to hop on a bike he'd never ridden and go full tilt to a 12th place qualification. I repeat @sspomer that is a 12th place qualifier on a bike...more

It is the same track indeed, it's a lot gnarlier than this video makes it seem. It's not the most technical, but still really steep and traction will be a big issue at higher speeds. Also, with how soft the dirt is over there, I predict the track will turn to shit by day 2

Keep in mind he was managing the Bergamont team in previous years. Although he does enjoy the odd party, he works a lot more than people give him credit for.

Agreed about Ratboy. It's unreal what he can do, even on a Santa Cruz.

Yep Veefour, you nailed it, I only just re-read the question properly now, and at the time I read it as "my greatest run" For the record, I would answer the question as, either Sam Hill - Champery 2007, Sam Hill Val Di sole 2008, or Richie Rude, stage 3 La Thuile EWS 2016.
Maybe someone at Vital can...more

Thredbo dirt for the win!
I remember boosting a 19 year old Gravesy back in through a window of the Schuss Bar at Thredbo when he got kicked out for being too wasted at a national round after party. Legend!

Yeah, they are cutting down trees, they removed an entire woods section in Leogang.
That being said, the footage is worth it imo: https://youtu.be/Nem8ltZmcss?t=13

Typically flat riders ride more rear spring (because they're weighting their feet more and leaning back more) and clip riders run more front spring. I used to bump up two clicks of low speed in my fork when I switched to clips. Now I just run clips all the time cuz I finally...more

Just wanted to chime in here and clarify that a) welding tolerance on aluminum frame head angles is ~1.0 degrees, and b) you absolutely, positively cannot feel 0.5 degrees of head angle change.

Love it. There's something rad about the simplicity of a hardtail.
My trusty Production Privée has about 300 laps in Queenstown Bike Park and never let me down. Wouldn't swap it for any bike in the world.
