The Troy is waaaaay more capable than what you'd expect from a 150mm bike, and I'd say it makes more sense than a DH bike AND a long travel trail bike (notice my refusal to use the E-word)...

12/13/2014 9:12pm I ride the 2015 Giant Glory L and it is huuuuuge! In fact it oftens drags in the ground when attached to the gondola cabins here in Queenstown (taco'ed wheel because of that the other day).. I'm 6'2", but the front end is enormous, a 6'5" rider could ride this thing comfortably.

This is a wonderful vid, I've watched it probably 50 times. I've done swimpacking (some call it hydrotouring) in Norway, and I guess it's pretty similar to bikepacking in that you have to be as comfortable as possible both during the day and at night. Having comfortable nights while still enjoying the swimming/biking. It's a matter of making compromises...
