Have you checked the straightness of the derailleur hanger?

Seen at the bike festival in riva del garda: nicolai nucleon 16 with classic derailleur, sadly with hadset cable routing...but given the huge customization possibilities of nicolai may an external or internal cable routing will be possible

I am pretty sure we aren’t far off the AXS stuff actually being cheaper to manufacture than the legacy stuff. I am sure the shifter is already without needing any of the small mechanical parts. It’s not a complicated system and the components wouldn’t be expensive if the trickle down goes right.

Personally don’t think SRAM’s current cable actuated group sets really need an update. Would much rather have them invest in reducing prices for it than a 1 percent increase in shift quality.

OT on. Some top tier brake pads (Trickstuff power, Galfer green) are organic. It depends on the application, for a 3-4 minute dh run organic are superior IMO, but I can see for general riding maybe not so much. OT off

In my experience, always metallic for long descents with high heat or wet riding with high levels of contamination. When organic pads get dirty or hot they tend to disintegrate quickly. If Ortogonal is right and the Trickstuff pads are organic, that's super cool. I've heard nothing but good things about Trickstuff pads, so maybe they know something that Shimano...

So XO's without the holes and a matte silver color, probably 600 - 650g's with ring. Main issue with GX is the length coming in at 170 or 175. Wonder if they were smart enough to offer shorter sizes? Probably not anything shorter than 165.

I don't think sram will be able to ignore the mass market, most of the money is made there. But I don't see all of the features of transmission trickle down to nx or sx. I don't think the bike manufacturers are willing to change all their bikes to UDH and therefore 12mm through axel. If you compare what shimano did with linkglide, offering really good shift performance and durability at the cost of weight. I think sram can still improve their lower priced groupsets alot without going "full transmission", by offering cable operated shifting, only with improvements in chain...

No split pivot, it's a flex stay design.

You're correct! The brakes look similar enough that I never questioned the spec sheet since the Comp build is supposed to come with the T4s. Just updated the review to reflect the spec we tested; cheers.

I saw one of these in person at a race and it looked 100x better in person than on a computer screen.

Take it to a shop and have it looked over. Other than that, just ride it. It's a pretty old bike and not worth upgrading. Use it to find out if you like mountain biking. If you do, buy a newer bike. If you don't, you aren't out much money. As for suspension, you can play with any rebound or compression adjustments it has. Again, I wouldn't spend any money on it as it is really old.

Super cool to see this crossover! Josh is incredibly talented on a dirt bike and seems to be pretty fast on a DH bike as well winning the top amateur award for the weekend. Also rad on Rock Creek's part to let him do this.

I got to spend a day on the Haste but in the Performance Elite spec with the DHR Evo's at Trestle on their second to last weekend open. I was super impressed with the bike especially how it mellowed out the massive end of season braking bumps. Describing the suspension as feeling bottomless was my same conclusion.
