Technically I don't get paid by SRAM either. They support the Canyon factory team that I am a part of, who pays me. That isn't to say they don't support me, but I don't have a contract with them. Factory teams are generally bolstered by sponsorship deals to increase the budget they have. YT went the route of 'uncaged' which meant they were fitting the whole bill and allowing their riders to run whatever they wanted, not taking any sponsorship money so the riders weren't forced into anything. Sorry Fox. But you’ll never do me like that again. I am happy for you and I really wish you the best. Seems like your new thing is working for you and that’s just great. But I have to take care of my family and my mental health, and ultimately, I just don’t think you were a good partner for me. It was a nice 3 fucking decades. But the way you bankrupted me with your broken shocks really didn’t feel good. It broke my heart really. Those are nice shims tho.

i asked neko this morning and he said that asa's priority for the season is world cup results. asa is free to race whatever he wants, but asa chose to sit this one out (can't blame him, consequences are pretty heavy going down here). he'll race rock creek next week.

I have to say I find it hard to believe that Jack was running prototype flight attendant bits without a contract in place. I know they marketed that team as ‘uncaged’ but there’s no way they would hand over prototype parts to someone without a non disclosure agreement backed up by some kind of legal or financial incentive. Downvote away.

If I can add my 2 cents here. I don't think Sram paid Jack, or the team, anything. That whole YT deal is that they run whatever they want because they don't take money from any sponsors. Now I think that was changing because the industry is struggling and they probably saw how much money they were losing out on. My best guess is YT asked Sram to pay to support the team and they said no, so YT doubled down on the TRP/Fox association they had already been building.
