Im sure this wont be an overly liked comment but... Am I the only one who thinks the possibility of the Athertons racing Atherton branded bikes is just super F'ing lame? In no way am I pumped that this rumour is a possibility.

During the season the riders entertain us, during the winter we entertain them with random BS and complete guesses about their career.

That's not really a theory, based on the syndicate, commencal and Gee's posts they clearly have an eye on things, at the very least they need to make sure info doesn't leak (Do you remember when Sam Hill's move to CRC was leaked weeks before the intended date :/ ). But I think it is weird that many companies are waiting until the very last minute, did you really spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on a team and then just wait for the UCI team listing to announce it for you in a spreadsheet? Or else wait until the...

I heard all this Syndicate banter is that they're dropping CLIF as a sponsor and picking up Kendall Jackson. Rumor is that there will be a signature Greg Minnaar pre-race red blend (some sort of Pinot Noir/Syrah combo) and Syndicate post-race sparkling. Guess it took a while for Loris to get on board with an American wine company but they figured it out.

The Syndicate is a department at SCB, its not a separate entity. It has always been this way. In that way, the athletes, the management and the activities of the team reflect the values of the brand. Its an integral part of how we operate, not a bolt-on that lasts a couple years til' it moves to another brand in a transparent game of musical chairs.
