MK_ Added a comment about press release DT Swiss Introduces All-New Complite Spokes

3/6/2024 1:37pm
Sapim claims their bladed spokes have the best fatigue life of any of their spokes. DT may lay similar claims, I've been on bladed spokes since CX-Rays came out so have gone by Sapim claims for a couple decades now.

y'all need to nerd up on your spokes. I'll interpret the tea leaves for you. These new Complites are what Revolites are to Revolutions and Aerolites. The same profile of the Revolites (not bladed like Aerocomps but with the + cross section of Revolites; kinda bladed, kinda weird plus thing) with the butting of Competitions; likely a little thicker overall. Strong and relatively heavy. Strongest in their heavyweight class. Welterweight class? Aerolites are 278g for 64 @260mm Revolites are 285g Aerocomps are 380g Complites are 365g Competitions are 311g _MK

MK_ Added a comment about product review Luftkappe

It improves the GRIP2 equipped 36 all the same. Thing is, Fox tends to pack too much slick honey into the negative spring side of the air shaft, without spending money on the Luftkappe you can improve your fork's performance a ton by removing the air shaft and cleaning off most of the grease there. Luftkappe is icing on the cake.

Intense Tazer. It's now an eBike, revival of an old name used for a slalom bike back in a day.

Except Bronson never came in that colorway and has the shock layout akin on the bike on the right. The colorway happens to be stock HTLT. Both these dudes are pretty tall so the wheels look smaller.

Ha ha. No. Bladder integrated into the cushcore type insert. I don't mean a tube placed on top of cushcore, half the tube material would be redundant and add unnecessary weight. On a separate note, it seems that rim bead is the weakest link of any rim and the part which does the most tire and tube slicing. Maybe the...
Maybe the cushcore type insert should have an integrated air bladder above it. That frees up the tire from holding air, it's just tread and abrasion resistant casing at that point with sidewall which doesn't inherently need to hold air. May be a good way to decouple abrasion/rock strikes from puncturing the air bladder internal to the tire. _MK

Hi, you mention a comparison of kinematics between HT and HTLT; is there a graph? I'm really wondering how long stroked HT compares to HTLT but that's probably outside the graph anyway. BTW, X2 or CCDBair make a world of difference on this bike.

Thanks for that! Looks pretty close to standard HT. Cheers.

Thanks. I suppose width isn't the big issue here. When I tried running the 2.4 TK in the original HT it ate a big chunk out of the back of the main link.

Do you have any info on rear tire clearance vs Hightower? The original wouldn't fit a 29er Conti TK 2.4 without the links being chewed up. I'm hoping this version can?
